Blarg Unity. Amirite, ladies?

Day 1,980, 07:09 Published in USA USA by fingerguns

I read two articles this morning about Unity. They were both terrible.

Dr Luis is starting his *potential* run for President with a very wanky piece about how the eUS needs to be united in spirit and stand together and some other stuff and junk. America. Eagles. Freedom. It was trite.

Joseph Dinero wrote an equally wanky piece, extremely well-written but seriously lacking on a stirring point or a call to action. More venting and a bit of this 'revolution is coming' teasing...I guess to remind people that they stated almost a month ago that there was some kind of plan in the works for something. I dunno.

This is my attempt to bridge these two awful articles into something people may actually have a use for, because as awful as they are, they are timely. We need to have a REAL conversation, not just throw propaganda at each other because both of these writers are right- New developments in world events being what they are, we need to be on the same team here and we need to be clear about what we consider 'acceptable tactics.'

More on WAR here: WHPR

The ATO has been going well. While RGR and some of his buddies haven't been completely wiped out, they've been seriously handicapped. The last CP election probably didn't need to utilize the Unity process at all. Vanek was a solid candidate that most people rallied behind and RGR is such a ridiculous joke that even our enemies don't want to work with him anymore.

To get rid of the Unity process (primaries to narrow down the field before election day), we need a STRONG eUS candidate with a very clear vision for the nation. As DrLuis attempted to convey- we need to be united in spirit and in focus. And we need someone the nation wants to rally behind. The reason for the Unity elections was to avoid having an election so divided that we make things easy for the PTOers. With too many 'good options' or too many 'meh options', votes will be split and it won't take much for PTOers to win. The primary meant to narrow down the field is both logical and effective.

But we're undoubtedly sick of it. This bad taste has been in our collective mouth about the process since the beginning. As Joseph Dinero explained in his article, the process can be easily corrupted by corrupt individuals who see the Unity primaries as an opportunity to grab and hold power rather than an unfortunate BUT TEMPORARY reality.

While not EVERY election has been rigged or unfairly manipulated, we all know that some of them have. We even seem to know who is involved in that kind of thing, but rather than calling them out directly, some people dream up conspiracies about a cabal of power hungry elitists controlled by some sort of puppet master and start going after those they believe to be foot soldiers (evidence be damned).

And when people say crazy stuff like that, it makes the people who know better call them foil-hatters and start seeing whole swaths of the nation as butthurt conspiracy theorists who are so blinded by rage and frustration that the courtesy of asking for their opinions is probably a wasted effort. And there you go...an entire nation divided by the actions of just a couple people, not to mention some self-fulfilling prophesies. We're all paranoid now! You're either with us or against us! You and your ilk are killing this nation! RARRARRRRRARRRR

It's past time to ask the question- when will we know when we don't NEED this anymore? If you say 'when the ATO has been completely eliminated' then what you're really saying is that we will have this forever. If the Unity process is meant to be temporary, then we need a few reliable indicators that it is safe to proceed without them. Is it something that should be abolished entirely, or are we open to having it some months when it seems necessary (multiple strong candidates or no strong candidates), and not in other months when the nation is pretty much totally behind a single person already?

Also...who decides this? Congress? Some committee? The current Administration? Party Presidents?

Does the impending threat of world war lead you to believe now is NOT the time for this conversation?

Please leave your comments below or write an article of your own in response. No more wanking, let's actually sort this out. If you have no ideas or anything useful to say, feel free to just NOT comment.

Thanks for reading,

If it needs to be said- I'm not running for anything...ever again.
