Because You Deserve a Debate

Day 2,169, 20:29 Published in USA USA by Israel Stevens

America,

As I sit here, drunkenly writing this article I find myself annoyed with the country. I have been hoping that someone would rise to the occasion of challenging Artela for the Presidency. After all, we didn’t go through nearly a year of Unity only to end up with one candidate for President. That’s not how it’s supposed to be.

I am disappointed in all of the younger citizens who are content to sit back and watch former Presidents step to the plate and get elected without even attempting a challenge. If Artela is our President, then 5 of the last 7 months of Presidents will have already had the job. That’s not progress, that’s stagnation.

I’m disappointed in all those who chose not to run. To not risk losing to a veteran player. They know who they are, and I’m not going to name names. They made their decisions and despite my vehement disagreement, here we are.

One candidate for the highest office in the land, and one of the most influential jobs in the entire world. This is not how a democracy is supposed to run. We don’t anoint our Presidents, we vet them. We don’t have a line of succession; we have a grueling and brutal campaign season that has broken many a candidate. We’re supposed to give a damn about who we elect, not just accept them at face value.

Having a coronation instead of an election doesn’t sit well with me, and I refuse to accept it. As such, I’m running for President.

We’re going to have a debate on a national level. And we’re going to be a better country for it.

”We might even lose the White House, but we’re not going to be threatened by issues. We’re going to put them front and center. Let that be our legacy.”

My Promise to You:

I am at the stage in my career where I have nothing left to prove. My resume is longer than almost every active citizen in the country. I’ve held just about every job, and excelled at them. I don’t need to be President to stroke my ego, or to put another bullet on my resume.

I will not lie to you. I don’t care about my reputation anymore. My public image is what it is, and there are a good many reasons for it. But I am not going to try and improve my standing by lying. I just simply don’t care enough to. This job isn’t a stepping stone to something else and I will not treat it as one.

No political bullsh*t. This ties into the truth thing. I’m not going to give you political double speak. I’m not going to be vague and hint at things. I’m going to be upfront about things and tell you what I really think. If I don’t like you, or think your idea is silly I’m going to say so. I refuse to blow anyone to get elected. This campaign will be like nothing you’ve seen before, and that will extend to the Presidency.

My cabinet will actually be fresh. The usual way you build a cabinet is mostly experienced players with 1 or 2 new ones to show how edgy you are, and willing to promote new players. F**k that. That doesn’t do anything to actually help new players. Every single one of my Secretaries have never been a Secretary before. Of anything. They are 100% new to the job.

I will train tomorrow’s leaders. This topic also gets tossed around a lot by PotUS candidates. Usually they’re referring to deputies. But not me. As mentioned above, my cabinet will be 100% new. I will use my wealth of experience to teach them how to run this country. And when December 5th rolls around, we will have a strong group of players ready to take the reins of this country.

As I’m sure you can imagine, I have a lot more to say on the subject. I have more articles planned, plus I have to make the rounds to the various top 5 party forums. I am looking forward to it, because I want to be grilled. Our public leaders should be questioned.

Josh Frost has given us an amazing situation. He saved the country, and basically allowed us to push the reset button. Let’s not waste this opportunity.

If you want to go back to the way things have been for the past few years, then vote for Artela. If you want a secretive and divisive government, then vote for Artela.
If you want the Presidency to continue to be batted around between the same handful of players, then vote for Artela.

If you want to see tomorrow’s leaders actually get trained by one of the most experienced players in our country, then vote for me.
If you want someone that will not give you the runaround, or political bulls**t, then vote for me.
If you want something different, then vote for me.

I know it’s odd, with me framing myself as the ‘different’ candidate. Given my resume and history. But I’m at the point in my career where none of that matters to me anymore.

This election is really that simple.
