any psychologists out there?

I am wondering if we funded division one heavily so that every new player got a lot of resources, would they be more willing to play? and stay longer?
or will they get used to the game being easy then div two stop playing?
should i fund div to so that players have been filtered out through div one. and then they get extra help and feel good then play the game through harder div 3 and 4?
any suggestions? should i fund co's on div one heavily or div 2? to get more players to stay in the game?
fund div one so players like the game think it is easy invite there friends then leave in div 2 but maybe one of their friends will stay?
what would be best?

at the moment newbies can influence the battle in div1+2
and there they also can get some BHs
but as soon as they get to div3+4 they realize that they are weak and can't influence anything at all there. and if they didn't seen that before already then now they will also realize that the game is not more than pushing a button with "fight" written on it. politics can't do much, economy is dead and writing articles is not really playing a game but just writing articles...
i think the game itself has not much good that would be able to keep people playing - so people will quit anyway. with that said investing money is just a bad idea. if the game itself would be worth playing then asking people to join the game wouldn't be embarrassing, the question of quitting wouldn't even arise and you wouldn't need to give people money to keep them playing 3days longer but you would give them help to just make it easier for them...
and yes i know that the major thing of this game is the social interaction. but to be honest: you can also interact with people in other games as "background-form"-device-thingy, in games that actually work - so why would you chose to use a game that does not work?
and yes
i am still playing even though i say this game s.cks
well it is a 55:45 situation (keep playing:quit) for me at the moment
only things that keep me from quitting are:
- fun stuff happening
- the hate
- crazy stuff happening
- admins f.kking the game up even more
all are only related to the social interaction (if you don't count the last) and nothing is related to the game itself, he game being interesting/intelectually demanding/fun...
= meaning these all things i could also have somewhere else without me having to "tolerate" the cr4ppy-game-side of this
well all the above mentioned stuff would accout fpr a 50:50 situation. the reason why it stands at 55:45 for not quitting is just that i have invested much time.
it's like a "not so nice" relationship that you don't terminate because of all the stuff you have done to get that relationship in the first place and then to keep it going.
oh god. maybe ignore half of what i wrote as "he is just b.tching - and probably on crack"
knows that feel
I would think a mentor program would have greater benefit
there are a number of programs available but not obvious to new people
Once I found it meals on wheels was a great help
and once I found my current MU - things were even better
My MU does something like you suggest - the pay per million for Combat Orders on the daily orders is much higher in lower division than in higher divisions
It also has a great training program that encourages building up strength
also to point out some pit falls
- like the work tax making the 3 raw food factories they start with uneconomical to run
- and not to believe the promises of the latest AFA incarnation for paying you after you vote
isn't there a "mentor feed" at the bottom of the game when you start the game? (http://wiki.erepublik.com/index.php/Mentorship_Program)
+ some people (yeah very few) have also written in their profile that they are mentors and that you can contact them anytime with questions
however i think it is actually a job of the parties to indoctrinate their newbies - just don't fall for the crazy ones
and many coutries have a "newbie-information"-article always in the news with links to articles you should read + a coutry forum....
*country forum
hm, s oinformation is more helpfull to keeping players than hem lveling up i never thought of it that way!
leveling up will just bring them to Romper and all them strongfags in div4 earlier where they then have no influence on battles and no BHs at all. thats why all newbie-articles say
-don't work
-don't fight except if you get your DO done or a BH
-only train
-upgrade trainingcenters before building companies
