Another Funky Candidacy {CPF/PP}

Day 2,367, 07:50 Published in Canada Canada by Funky 24

In my experience of eRepublik, it is rare that the people who are dominant are able to escape indignation from the less successful citizen-players. Most Presidents, powerful countries and parties are often a locus for criticism by those who are compelled to blame them for either their faults or to lower them in standing.

The Canadian Progressive Front (CPF) escapes this caricature. During our unprecedented time as eCanada’s premier party, we are still in the good graces of our fellow citizens and have remained spirited and earnest despite our own success. It is fortunate for us, that because of Rylde’s wars, eCanada has remained relatively united. Even so, there is a role as, hopefully, your next Party President, I will be able to help the CPF fill.

Our description reads “to politically and socially progress all eCanadians and protect our national community through honesty and positive government!

These are our overarching goals as a political party in this community and game. They inspire our ideals. We will grow our members. We will do this by growing our membership and emphasizing our 5 Tenets. We will then help them participate through the game by electing them as Congress members or members of the country’s our party’s cabinet (through our enlarged membership). Our members in turn will participate in party activities, the media, the forum, our politics, our MUs, our battles with the right mindset to protect our community from its consummate ability for self-destruction, as well as from foreign foes. The stronger the CPF grows and its members engage in eCanada, the stronger our country will be.

This is my understanding of the party. From this, for this term, I will proceed to accomplish three objectives for the party:

1. Implement a procedure for “party policies.” In lieu of a Congress, the CPF will formulate its own proposals for eCanada’s governance. These will ground our tenets and aforementioned goals. Any member can propose a policy such as “the CPF supports the embargoing of countries in an opposing alliance.” This can be done by communicating the idea by article, shout, PM or PM thread. A simple majority vote through either Gdoc or PMs. If passed, the proposal that will guide CPF on issues of the day in the future, being catalogued on our forum and on our wiki page.

2. Elect a CPF Country President. Through cajoling, or more likely, irritation, I will round up a candidate or two from our ranks and help sit him or her in the CP spot.

3. Recruit members. I would rather not delegate this to anyone as it is tedious and presents itself as an actual job and responsibility that the Party President can attend to. Keeping eCanada strong means ensuring that we include our newest members in our community. Recruitment allows players to avoid feeling atomized by including them in our sub-community where they can learn and be exposed to what variety remains in this game.

The CPF will provide a space for players who want to politick, while also complimenting the other aspects of this game. The CPF will lead by example, generate different viewpoints and help eCanada to its liberation through positive engagement. I have some experience with this position of Party President, and so on May 15th, I ask the CPF membership for its approval to add to it for another term.
