A few days ago I sat down with Canadian President Rylde about the Canadian-American issue that’s been consuming a good portion of the media and the warring of our country. I decided to sit down with President Gnilraps about his take on the situation as well to get you both sides of the story.
As was discussed in the other article, President Gnilraps confirmed that America invaded based on the foreign policy of Canada, as they have recently signed an MPP with Serbia, probably the only mortal enemy of America. President Gnil also told me he believes “they were upset that eUSA did not fight for Canada to have a seat at the Sirius table. That’s a legitimate issue.” The remarks from both President Gnil and Rylde show this war is entirely based on the strained foreign policy relations of the two nations, and President Gnil doesn’t believe any peace can come while the MDP is the prevailing party in Canada.
Another topic we discussed with Rylde was the NAP terms proposed by America, and as most officials have commented, the terms were shot high on purpose to initiate back and forth bargaining leaving for room to negotiate. President Gnil also believes Rylde didn’t put much effort into actual negotiations as they barely heard back from him after submitting them. President Gnil also stated that “As a Cabinet, we did not trust Rylde's sincerity in asking for peaceful terms.”
A few other interesting points brought up were how this is effecting the US’s internal status, in which President Gnil said he was willing to continue to listen to those opinions that differed from his own, and the plan for moving forward which I feel I can’t accurately paraphrase, so here it is: “The MEK Military Unit that made an amazing statement on the battlefield against us yesterday was celebrating their Birthday by tanking impressively. (They scored 15 of the top 23 fighters yesterday). There was little to do but watch. So as of this very moment we are assessing our losses, measuring the costs to regain them, and developing strategy from there.”
I think these two articles have really given you a good set of sources to look at when deciding who is in the right and who is in the wrong. Erepublik is cyclical in it’s elections. Every 10 days like clockwork on the 5th we have Country President elections, on the 15th we have Party president elections which thanks to game mechanics heavily influence the Congressional election that we see on the 25th of every month. ATO and PTO are terms that we see often when the middle of the month approaches. As we are still dealing with the remnant a Serbian PTO this practice will continue for some time. The Serbians no longer have the numbers to break into the top 5 on their own and as such they need to employ subterfuge to hijack a legitimate party large enough to occupy such a spot.
As the voting bloc for the Serbians has greatly diminished it is very unlikely that this should happen. So what is the point then? As long as we are careful and precise we can hold the top 5. In addition to this each and every time we take the AFA they lose bodies in the move. We started this process in June of 2013. At that moment they were the number 2 party by a solid margin. We have now reduced them down to the 7th party. This practice will continue indefinitely. The remnants will tell you they are not a threat to the eUSA, but their actions in WTP not quite a month ago show otherwise.
Each party holds it’s own primaries to choose an official candidate to run on the 15h in game. Being as nearly every top 5 party has a couple ‘PTO Candidates’ on their respectful ballots it is imperative we all be on the same page when voting time comes around. While you may know your own parties candidate you most likely don’t know the others. In the shuffling that invariably happens it’s important to know who is the ‘official’ candidate for any given party. As such here are the ones to vote for:
Federalists: Jefferson Locke
USWP: Artela
WTP: Dmjohnston
AMP: David Wilson
LAP: TellUrGrlthx
Black Sheep: Henry William French
AFA: Tyler Bubblar
On the 15th please check #voting and/or http://goo.gl/yVtwH4 for voting instructions. If you cannot do so then please vote for the official candidate in your party as it does no good to take the AFA if we in turn lose a top 5 Party. be sure to use your vote wisely. Success on the 15th will lead to continued success on the 25th in the form of a Congressional ballot free of Serbian candidates. This will allow us to continue to whittle the PTO threat down. On April 11, 2014 (Day 2335) the eUSA lost all 3 of our Resistance Wars and along with them our 10/10 bonuses.
Canadians everywhere rejoiced. However, it was not the Canadians, or Asteria for that matter, who cost the United States her precious bonuses. It just so happened that April 11 was the 2nd birthday of the Mobile Elite Korp (MEK), known as MEK Day.
The Mobile Elite Korp is a portuguese mercenary MU composed mainly of D4 hitters. They were founded on April 11, 2012 (Day 1604). On their birthday(s) they decided to celebrate by going on high damage missions. As they were “born” as a Military Unit in 2012 this was not their first time.
In 2013, MEK celebrated their 1st birthday by completing a similar mission. They opened 4 RWs against Spain and successfully liberated all 4 regions dealing 2000M damage with only 30 members. The article summarizing the events can be read here. Needless to say they still dealt massive damage with fewer members than this time around.
This year they had 55 members, 15 of which were in the top 25 fighters of the day. This was a big damage dealing assault by them and they certainly dealt a lot of damage. However it was just one day of fighting. They won some battles but not the war.
USA can only hope that she has now taken her turn and that the next MEK day looks for a victim elsewhere.

The United States of North America are reclaiming their northern territories. Won't be long until the USNA is whole again.
1. First of all, off the map, Portugal is enjoying some new property in South America. Venezuela is no more, and if Portugal has her way, she will not exist for some time. There's a lesson here.
2. Croatia is Hungary. Hungary is Croatia? Only six regions left. Could the once empire be wiped in a little more than a week or two? Will Serbia come to her aid? Let's watch and find out.
3. Belarus and Latvia are now fifteen battles deep in their...SNORE...ZZZZZZZZZ...SNORE...wha, what was I saying? O well, forget it. It was boring.
4. Finland and Estonia are locked in mortal battle to the end. Who will wipe whom? Enjoy an interesting article released by the former five term commander of Asgard, JuliusCaesar. In the meantime, we will continue to bring you minute by minute coverage of a war that is as old as time...
5. Serbia has gobbled up Albania, but they will be back. Whom will she set her sights on next? And I'd like to challenge Serbia to be more creative and interesting going forward. Finish contributing currency to your airstrike fund and do something. We all wait with baited breath.
6. Germany shows Denmark who is the boss. HUEHUAHUEHUAHUEHUAHUEHUAHUEHUAHUEHUA. But seriously, this little arrangement referred to as Germark has worked for how many months now? Seems like a great little thing they have going.
7. Pakistan surprises the eWorld with a successful Airstrike on Belgium. They managed to secure Brussells only moments ago and are now marching on Wallonia. Can Pakistan wipe Belgium and keep the RW's under control? Could be a new player in Europe?
Seriously, the only thing of interest going on is Croatia may wipe Hungary. NOMNOMNOMNOMNOM. I smell missions coming because erepublik has slowed way down the last few weeks. Can we get an Airstrike or something? Maybe a new country or two to PTO? While plenty of action good for reporting, it might be a blessing for the alliance SG's. I just hope all this preparation time leads to a strategy.
