[WRP] - A view from Parliament - Issue 19

Day 1,959, 09:32 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Huey George

Introduction

In this latest "A view from Parliament", I'll update you on how my votes were cast in three completed law proposals. I'll give you my thoughts about the upcoming CP elections and a possible "war" on our home-front.

Law proposals

Completed law proposal are;

No Natural Enemy has been proposed

I voted YES. A pre-cursor to a peace between ourselves and eIreland, Both Governments' will at the time (More details of my reasoning in the peace proposal below).

The vote ended;
35 YES votes to 5 NO votes

President of Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) proposed a mutual protection pact with United Kingdom

I voted YES. This was because Macedonia are a long-term, staunch and loyal ally. A continuation of the MPP makes absolute sense and will aid the general population of both countries with extra fighters for their conflicts.

The vote ended;
36 YES votes to 2 NO votes in the UK
35 YES votes to 1 NO votes in Macedonia

The President of Ireland demanded a sum of 0 gold from your National Treasury in return to a peace treaty with United Kingdom.

I voted YES. This is because I felt it was the will of the eUK and eIreland Governments. Additionally at the time I felt it'd be in the best interest of my constituents to support our allies in the short term and close a war which hadn't attract enough popular support to be successful. This action in the long-run also enhances our international reputation important for when the eUK requires support from our allies in the future.

Although at the time I thought medium term, the Government of the eUK should be looking to have a direct eUK conflict training or real in the pipeline so the public have something to look forward to. (Things have changed since I cast my vote and the eUK could be in a real conflict soon...see my closing thoughts)

The vote ended;
24 YES votes to 0 NO votes in the UK
32 YES votes to 4 NO votes in Ireland

Closing thoughts

Despite peace efforts eIreland's Congress are currently considering wheter to vote for or against this current law proposal "United Kingdom has been proposed as Natural Enemy."

The current vote stands (as of 09:28 Day 1,959 of the new world);
29 YES votes to 4 NO votes in Ireland

This coupled with the rumours of an Argentine airstrike planned possibly to land in the eUK tomorrow. The United Kingdom will certainly need to unite to ensure our rightful sovereignty of our lands is retained. So I ask you to put aside past differences if required. Although the Government will have to play it's part with a strong communication plan so the eUK public are fully aware and informed not left confused at anytime.

This leads me to the upcoming Country President elections. We find ourselves with a choice of 5 candidates. The candidates which have released so manifesto articles so far all have different qualities which would benefit the eUK in their own unique ways.

My own Workers’ Rights Party were asked for support early by a few candidates and given an initial insight into their polices. This allowed us to vote early on who to support. After our members discussed candidates, their polices, experience and approach to the role of CP. Our votes were cast in favour of supporting Jimbojoy as our chosen candidate. What I've read so far has given me confidence our support has not been misplaced and I'm looking forward to reading his Foreign Affairs, Defense and Finance plans when they are released.

However whoever wins the CP elections will require the "support" of the nation if "war" comes to the eUK so I ask you whoever you vote for, you support the new CP however again the new CP must in return ensure the public are kept fully informed through media and direct messaging channels using their cabinet and Congress(Parliament).
