GET ACTIVE IN THE MEDIA

In the government run contest we mark the first week of the January Media-A-Thon as we head toward into week 2. We want to encourage you in the private media to write articles and remain active to get your voice out. It is important to keep people informed of what is ongoing daily around eUSA and in the political parties of events and to recruit people.

Gov. Program: Arm America
Joey3790, Deputy Secretary of Media

If you join in the action on the battlefield regularly, then you’re all too familiar with a major problem that comes with fighting in a war, your inventory of weapons goes down. If only there was a way to gain those used weapons back. Well, I’ve got great news for you! The Department of Defense, or DoD, offers Arm America to help you recover from those damages.

Arm America is a government program funded by the Department of Defense that reimburses players for the weapons they use in DoD priority battles. This program aims to compensate each soldier the same amount of weapons that they used in a battle up to a limit of 100 Q7 weapons per day. In reality, it’s a win-win situation as the eUS receives more damage to assist in battles between themselves or allies, and each player receives his/her supplies back. The only requirements are that you be an eUS citizen, belong to an American Military Unit that follows DoD orders, and fight in a DoD priority battle. If you fit these requirements, then all you have to do is fill out a simple form with your name, eRepublik profile link, and a screenshot of your damage and kills made in the battle you fought in. The link to the form is below.

If you’re a regular on the battlefield and you would like to receive your weapons back, then Arm America is a program that you should take advantage of! I guarantee that you will not regret it.

To receive weapons, please fill out the order form by clicking here: Arm me!

Question of the Day Update
Jaden A., Secretary of Media

Hale26 has been hard at work updating the DoCA program, QoTD! In this program, citizens are asked to answer a daily question about eRepublik. If the citizen gets the question right, he or she gets free food! Hale posted this article recently in which he details the work that is being done on QotD. He assured me that catch-up will be done by Friday. He will be QMing until the 30th. He also announced that a new program is coming out Monday!

Cabinet Expose: The Role of the Country President
Azazel Romanov, Country President

What can I say about being President that hasn’t already been stated, speculated, or argued? Being President isn’t like any of the other departments, mainly because it is built around whoever is currently occupying the space moreso than the other departments. Media, DoCA, Defense, State all have a stronger sense of structure to them regardless of who is running the show. Being President is whatever is deemed to be important by the President.

Some Presidents are domestically focused, and some care more about foreign affairs. Some, like me, try to maintain a balance of focus between the two. Some seek out fun, and some seek out stability. Some like to completely micromanage their cabinets, while other seek to completely delegate out tasks and keep things on track from afar. Essentially, it can take multiple forms, or multiple terms.

There are some essential functions as President, such as keeping up donations, MPPs, and NEs, especially while the defensive dictator is in place. President plays the role of key advisor and director on MPPs and NEs, though these could certainly be overruled if congress deemed so. The President is also the main figure of government, and is essentially the face of the country for the month they are in office. They also determine the group of individuals who assists with all executive functions, which could make or break the other departments.

Becoming President isn’t like being selected for other jobs. It’s often seen as the landmark achievement in anyone’s political career, unless you’re interested in international alliance affairs. Once elected, it’s your show to run. In the end, you could be a great president, a terrible president, or somewhere in-between. It all depends upon their style of leadership and the people they pick to walk alongside them.

Congress Report
Jaden A., Secretary of Media

It has been a while since my last Congress Report, and I will not lie to you as to why. The fact is that there has been very little going on in Congress since my last report. In my last report, I told how Congress elected Resoula Speaker of the House. Then, there was a budget discussion which devolved into a bit of madness, and that prompted a great deal of back-and-forth on whether or not Resoula handled it well. Then, there was an amendment proposed meant to clarify what would happen if Resoula or any other Speaker were voted out. That’s where I left off.

In the week and a half since, the amendment moved to a vote, but it failed. The vote count was:
Yes: 9
No: 15
Abstain: 6

Other than that, practically nothing has happened. There was a sign-in. The quorum was set to 17. There was a brief revamp of the modding controversy. It ended. That’s it.

What’s up, Congress? Let’s get some activity! Encourage your Congressmen and women to get active and propose something before the end of the term!
