[VM71] The next CP election...
VoodooMike71
Now that the run-up to the next CP election is in full swing, there is cause for concern.
Here’s the current candidate list, as of day 2,442 - eight days before the election…
Already there are five candidates (the same as the total number who ran in the last election), and we already know that at least two more people are going to stan
😛Kapten Johnson and WayneKerr. So that’ll be seven, plus anyone else who decides to throw their hat in the ring.
The last time…
Looking back at the last election, obviously (famously, outrageously) BigAnt won it, supported by Vendetta and a large group of Serb PTOers who now make up the new Serbs for UK party. Just behind him in second place, and supported by the majority of genuine eUK citizens was Prof J Moriarty who - after BigAnt was impeached for being a thieving tit - became our CP. Between them these two candidates accounted for more than 84% of the total vote, in a straight good guy vs bad guy fight. To look at it another way, out of a total of 372 votes cast for these two candidates, only 8 votes separated them at the final count.
That’s a huge percentage of the vote going to just two candidates, split pretty equally into two camps. The other three candidates attracted only 70 votes between them; nowhere near enough to trouble the leaders, but a block of 70 votes that - if cast elsewhere - could have had a dramatic impact on the result.
This time…
Now let’s fast forward to the next CP election. We already know that there are likely to be a minimum of seven candidates, so let’s have a brief look at them in turn..
Horace G Fossil is standing from the Real Spamicans - Moriarty’s party - and supported by PCP. Based on the last election this could make him a real contender, but given that there are a number of other serious contenders this time round, his chances have been severely damaged.
Mrkalj Branko from Serbs for UK - the PTO party. Effectively this guy will be playing the BigAnt role in this election, and attracting votes from the same base. More on this in a minute.
kdoggroundtwo from the Corrupternment party (supported by ESO). Serious contender no.1, but disadvantaged by not standing from a major party?
William Ross from The United Sovereign Party UK. This is a new, small party with only four members, and this effectively rules him out of the race.
zaracool from Jack Jockson’s Party. In last month’s elections this party’s candidate attracted a paltry 18 votes, and throughout the campaign Jack Jockson tried to sell votes to the highest bidder. Not a chance in hell of winning.
Kapten Johnson from UKRP. Serious contender no.2.
WayneKerr from UKPP. Serious contender no.3.
On top of this, there is currently no candidate from either TUP or WRP. I’m happy to announce that TUP is not planning to run a candidate this time around. WRP did poorly in the last CP election, but may be encouraged to try again after they won the recent Congress election.
So how’s this going to pan out?
Who knows? However, hopefully the problem is immediately clear. Last time round the vote was split pretty much 50/50. This time the landscape is completely different.
If we put the minor candidates to one side for a moment, in one camp you have a single Serb candidate - Mrkalj Branko. Despite the fact that his party, via ClairVoyence, has pledged their support to a different party, this has a definite smell of farmyards about it. You can be sure that Serbs for UK - as part of their overall TO strategy - will stand as one behind their candidate. They will also be backed by their hoard of multis, and possibly by a few rogue Vendetta members that are still kicking around (Dapper anyone?).
In the other camp we have at least three serious contenders: kdog, Kapten J and Wayne. All three are well known, and all three will receive serious and loyal support.
And that’s where the problem lies. Last time round BigAnt received 190 votes, and we can be pretty sure that those votes came from three main places - Vendetta, Serbs PTOers and TUP two-clickers who missed all the messages and just voted for their party. This time Branko won’t get the TUP votes, and a lot of Vendetta voters will steer clear too, but there’s a still a solid (albeit probably illegal) voter base there.
Last time round the anti-BigAnt vote had a single candidate - Moriarty - to rally behind. Although ultimately unsuccessful, with a single point of focus everyone knew what they were doing. This is in stark contrast to the next election, when we’ll have three (or more) focus points. That in itself may be enough to sink the anti-PTO campaign and let Serbs for UK in.
But looking back at the last election, the real key may be the 70 ‘wasted’ votes that went to minor candidates who - given the circumstances last month - had no hope of winning. These 70 votes, along with any TUP two-clicker votes that will go elsewhere this month, may well be what clinches it.
So what do we do about it?
We could do nothing and simply let democracy run its course, dealing with the results when they come.
Alternatively, we could act now and try to mitigate the danger of a Serbs for UK CP leading a full TO of the country (or, if that doesn’t work, nicking all the bloody money again). It seems to me that, for this to work, three things need to happen…
1. Each CP candidate needs to seriously consider whether they should run, given the dangers of splitting the vote.
2. Parties and their PPs need to have a discussion about what they plan to do and who they plan to support. Parties not running a candidate need to talk to each other and - hopefully - come up with a plan for who they will support.
3. Parties need to inform their members what the plan is.
Last month there was a widespread effort across the eUK to ATO the Serbs for UK party and keep them out of the top five and thus out of Congress. The same thing needs to happen again with the CP election, and we only have eight days to do it.
Are you disillusioned with eUK politics? Fed up with multis, PTOs, presidents nicking all the cash and then laughing at us?
What you need to do is join TUP - the eUK’s biggest party, supporting citizens and fighting corruption since 2008.

I can tell you that WRP will probably not be running anyone. I think it's in our best interest to stick with a mainstream candidate as last time we distracted votes from the mainstream candidates which abetted BA getting in.
If there are 3 or 4 candidiates just run two blockers. Organise it now though.
WRP has pretty much backed their candidate already :3.
Well we can have an ATO or WRP can put their support on the election page and risk a Serbian Candidiate.
Just PM your members who you are backing.
The other parties use ballots, if we didn't we would be 'oppressive'
I don't understand how I'm saying "don't ballot".
Well I had construed 'Just PM your members who you are backing' as not doing a ballot. Since we hadn't actually decided a candidate yet.
Er I thought you said you;d backed someone already.
Obviously you ballot, pick a guy to support, then PM your members about why there is no ingame support (because ATO).
It's not too much of a problem, providing congress doesn't launch an impeachment against Moriarty as there are no serbs or Vendetta in congress impeaching a Serbian PTOer will be no problem at all.
Good point.
I think you'll find Horice "Goran" Fossil is a very serbius candidate.
Serious contender no.1 FTW
I will make my plan and program, I know that Uk don't trust eSerbs because the PTO, and for sure congress will make impeach if I win...
but I am not wining this "war" because I don't need war with UK or people, ore anyone.
one more thing... I notice the Big-aint there ... and I don't know why... but I have nothing with hem ! not after what he did.
Did you join TUP to vote for him as PP? Did you vote for him as CP?
I will vote for you, stop the discrimination of the Serbians
Unity is Strength!
When will you finally play fair without gang up against the Serbians?
You're in a party with a group of people - who happen to be Serbian - who have stated quite clearly that their aim is to PTO the country. You only have to look at the wealth of screenshots and messages that have been published to see that.
Many of the people in your party have also been very active in recent months supporting BigAnt, PTOing the TUP and getting Congress seats as a result, and using those seats to let in even more PTOers.
On top of all that, several of those people have also been shown (or even admitted) to running hoards of multi accounts.
Nobody is accusing all Serbs of doing this - far from it. However, the core group are Serbs, and they have created a party called Serbs for UK. It's difficult to get away from the theme.
So lecturing others on "ganging up" on Serbs and not playing fair is a little rich, don't you think?
Your party also supported the PTO of New Era and Vendetta, so....
So naive, Chris1983.
TUP didn't back the NE PTO or the V PTO.
Hell, TUP weren't even told that V was going to be PTO'd! Nor did they divert any voters to V.
Indeed, when we heard rumours of something going on we specifically decided not to find out more because we didn't want to be distracted from ATOing BigAnt and the group of Serbs (all of whom are in your party) supporting him.
You've backed the wrong horse, and you'll be tainted as a result. My advice to you is to walk away now.
