[TLT] Aurora - Thank you!

Day 2,590, 07:38 Published in Ireland South Korea by Don Croata

Hello everyone,
it’s been a while since I’ve wrote about some important events in eWorld through my own papers, but the latest one surely does deserve some words. Chile has left Aurora. As they’ve explained this move is something they need to return the fun in game. Maybe some of you still don’t realise how important this decision was for the eWorld, but you will see it will have some massive impacts on the alliances.

Firstly, I’d like to thank Chile for all their help and support to Ireland. They’ve been our strongest support over the whole year and I think there’s no Irish citizen which isn’t grateful to Chilenos. They’ve proved themselves as one of the most loyal allies a country can have. When they started to fight it was hard to lose the battle. This decision doesn’t change my feelings about eChile, I still love them, I still consider them to be the country which support their friends. I don’t think they will change in this aspect. What will change after this decision is Aurora? Our alliance, our dear family.

I’ve been there since the start of Aurora, hell I can say it’s my own daughter, together with enthusiastic Governments of Macedonia, Bulgaria, Chile, Mexico, Paraguay, Germany, Indonesia and Ireland we’ve found what turned out to be one of the biggest surprises in Erepublik since it started. No one didn’t expect us to actually have any success, we supposed to be new CoT and we’ve proved them all wrong in the first several months. In that time organisation, communication, coordination and generally morale of the soldiers of Aurora has been highest I’ve ever seen in Erepublik. Maybe I’m little subjective since I was there on all those channels and meetings, but this is really how I feel. I remember the glorious victories we had. I remember the glorious nights and battles we fought together. It was impossible that someone would miss a meeting, there’s been at least 30 people on the HQ channel all the time. Our MU Commanders all knew the orders few days before the battle would actually start. We had plan, we had goal. We had better support from allies outside of the alliance. We had what no alliance will have again. Honest enthusiasm and we’ve been thrilled because of it.

It all started to change over the summer. Aurora has elected some weak leaders, HQ’s has been changing constantly, people who should’ve lead the alliance haven’t been serious. There’s been more resignations. People stopped to come on the meetings since there was not much point going there. We’ve lost some of the key things which alliance needs - Communication and most important organisation. After that several bad decisions were made, some wars we couldn’t win has been started. With more and more defeats morale of the soldiers and countries has been decreasing. We’ve been weaker than ever until then. After we’ve lost organisation and communication Sirius falled apart. We have been worried, but we did expect them to keep fighting for us. I guess we’ve been relying on them too much and for too long time. Asteria has been growing stronger and stronger. They’ve established organisation like we had in our starts. Considering they’ve had bigger damage that meant they was ready for total control. So it started. After the summer things has been unrepairable. We’ve tried few moves, we’ve gave our best. But once this alliance has stopped growing it falled apart from the inside. It was impossible to do anything about it. Aurora has been dying.

We’ve survived together some exciting time, we’ve met each other, we’ve found our place in history of this game. Aurora has been a good alliance, I don’t think no one will remember it as a fail, or as a mistake. In the last few years, it’s hard to establish the longtime friendships and especially alliances, but I think we’ve managed to handle the pressures for a year which is actually quite time for this game right now.

Ireland met many people, many MU’s. We’ve always been happy to help our allies, to launch AS for Chile in Central Europe, for Macedonia in Arabia, for any ally who ever asked our help we’ve been there. Ireland has always been on the meetings, Ireland has been contributing to the alliance as much as we could. We’ve used our biggest strenght - being a small and safe country. Our AS’s aren’t expensive and our original regions are mostly safe. That was our input to the alliance. I don’t think no one will ever say a single bad word about us. We can be proud. Not only that we made new friends, we’ve also kept the old ones. No matter how many wars Canada had we’ve never ever came even close to attacking them, all this time we’ve been making sure this relations stay positive and friendly. One of the longest friendships in this game continued.

What's going to happen next? Which alliance will be founded? What shifts we're going to witness? It's unknown, but it's surely exciting. It's going to be several interesting months of negotiations, important battles and surprises, there will probably be several dissapointements, but Ireland don't have to worry about it. We're one of the most respected 'small' country in eWorld, we've proved to be strong soldiers, we've proved to be capable of kicking China out, stay in Central Europe for two months, help our allies and do something lots of other small countries aren't. I'm sure our friends won't forget about that. Our friends outside of Aurora, like Croatia, USA, Russia, Canada will be there for us too. This year has been good for our foreign affairs and I'm proud of it.

To conclude, Aurora has been something special for some people and it deserves everyone’s respect. Are these the last days of Aurora? Probably yes. But it doesn’t mean these days are the last days we’re spending with our friends. As Canadian example proved, we’re good in keeping friends, we’re good in making our allies love us and we do love them back. I do hope that Ireland, Chile, Germany, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Paraguay, Italy, Venezuela, Indonesia, Mexico and all other friends we’ve made in times of Aurora won’t be forgotten. I’m sure they won’t. Because that would be pity.

Finally, hats off to Asteria, you’ve outlived all of us thanks to your hard work and organisation. You’ve proved that things can be done successfully as an alliance even in this weird times of our game. Good job.

Signed,
Soy Moris, Aurora Founder and proud Soldier
