I refuse to be part of Oinyo's Think Tank.
From what I understand, Oinyo is trying to unite the Top 5 parties under one administration through this Think Tank.
I have no issues with getting people together to talk. My problem lies with the byproducts produced by it.
By limiting the Think Tank to one representative from each Top 5 party (and other interested recipients of the mass PM, as illustrated in Oinyo's video), it creates unnecessary risks and restrictions.
This small group of players, as diverse as the parties they come from, risk forming a melting pot vulnerable to groupthink.

I dislike Macbooks.
We don't need a playground and a teacher to tell us to play nice.
Also, Oinyo, as much as you want to please everyone, you can't.
Ultimately, you want to hear voices. Stop limiting the voices you can listen to by dissolving the Think Tank and bring it up in the media. The Think Tank is meant to be 100% transparent anyway, so nothing in it should be behind closed-doors. Give the whole country a voice: open up the Think Tank to the media. Don't give a privelege to the few in the Think Tank-- it unknowingly creates an environment for elitism. Instead, give every citizen the equal opportunity to utilize their freedom of press to express their thoughts, concerns, and to participate in debates around the issues and ideas that the Think Tank was created to tackle.
Engage the active members of eCanada.
Give all of us an equal opportunity to speak.
Make eCanada the Think Tank.

Oinyo already said that he will take into consider all discussion takeing place on his near daily update articles, you can debate away there

We already have TheSmoke in it as a non party player giving thoughts and suggestions.
I want to do as I always said. Surround myself with leaders and grow the country with them. To have a pool of people working together to better eCan for the good of the nation. Not for selfish or personal reasons.
if you do not support the think tank that is your option and you can sit out as others take part in stepping up and making a difference.
Instead of being a downer trying to prove something is wrong why dont you step up like a leader and help t make it right? Anyone can easily cast something aside. It takes a lot of work to actually work hard and make something succeed.

The suggestion is to keep it in the media. You may have 5 different topics where 20 different people have an opinion that they want to express on 2 topics and indifferent for the rest. They also don't appreciate the extra spam on things they don't care about. If they choose to opt in, they could be burnt out by the extra irrelevant things (irrelevant in their perspective) and lose the purpose of why they wanted to be involved. If they choose to opt out, they won't have the same opportunities to express their opinions.
Also, Oinyo, avoid groupthink. Don't expect the Think Tank to achieve a consensus. If it's diverse, it shouldn't.
Difficult decisions, right or wrong, are never made without criticism. Be open to the criticisms you receive in public and address them as such.
Welcome to real life.. Not to be rude but turn on C-span for a day and watch it 🙂 I am willing to bet on the think tank to produce ideas far better than for me to spin them out myself.
Dont worry about criticisms. I am an expert on them now.. Months and months of them have hardened and molded me 😛
Plus you would be incredibly surprised what ideas come out of so called "Useless banter" many times people will be just blabbering away when someone mentions a great idea and everyone stops to agree.
You're misinterpreting my article. The point of it is to go directly to the people instead of the Think Tank. Why are you asking few people "What do you think is good for eCanada?" when you can openly ask the same question to everyone?
Criticisms are meant to improve, if you listen accordingly. Insults are meant to break down.
Ask a question to 10 people. get your answer. Ask your question to a hundred.. get nothing.. This is why focus groups are so small. This is why when answers are taken its always in small groups and never in large.
This is my way of getting answers. as I said in my vid anyone in Ecan is encouraged to take part in the daily articles I will be putting up..

Focus groups don't work. You get an incomplete sample of the population and all of the results are usually biased towards the most dominant opinion in the room because people are cattle, and don't want to not belong.

sorry but I love Macbooks , i get all kind of crap using pc windows, the thing is i cant afford a mac though 😉 ..Think Tank sounds like an advisory board and that's a good idea i think .. Oinyo can't do it alone and he will need all the help he can get to get eCanada back on the map ..
The plan is to get 1 person from each party so no one gangs up on anyone and hopefully we can get some good ideas flowing from all corners of eCan. What i sent to the PP's were to give me the name of a good eader in their party that will get along with others to help better eCan.
I warned 1 person already and he seemed to get the hint. If you are going to cause trouble you will be booted. This is to better eCan.. not to fight

So why can't it begin in the articles in the first place? I.e. skip the think tank, and ask the people anyway.

I dont know how many times I can repeat the same thing Mary.. Lets just agree to disagree. If the MDP want to sit out this term then they are welcome to. I am not forcing anyone to take part in the Think Tank.
And yet Oinyo, you're subtly trying to guilt the people who are against your Think Tank idea by implying that their refusal to be a part of it is them not supporting eCanada. I clearly see this action in the follow quote: "you can sit out as others take part in stepping up and making a difference." If MDP is welcome to sit out, stop trying to make them feel the exact opposite and follow your own advice, agree to disagree.
Sorry, Ardikus, I got to go with Oinyo on this one. He's offered an opportunity (not one I necessarily agree with as I haven't seen his video with the new details) to the MDP to bring forward ideas and influence his decisions as CP. If they choose not to participate than that is to the detriment of Canada. I don't know why we wouldn't criticise someone for choosing to sit on the bench instead of getting out on the ice when given the chance.
The option for MDP to sit out is up to IBB, as an independent, I'm sitting out.

But yeah, fair point. That's totally fine if you don't personally want to participate in this one initiative since I know you'll still be putting your ideas forward. You disagree with such a format, which is your right, and it makes sense that you then don't participate as a result. But I do think it'd be a shame if there was no MDP representative in this quintet (if that's still on the table).
It would be, in my opinion, divisive to have just four parties represented (though, arguably making it a one party, one rep kind of deal is already divisive) and not constructive at all for Canada to have you sit out in silent while discussions are taking plus and a voice on your behalf should be heard.
My voice will go with the masses outside of the Think Tank.

For a long time it's been felt that certain individuals perceive that they and they alone know what's best for everyone else. Thriving in a divisive community and keeping it divisive to ensure that the community together never achieves that which only an elite few feel can be a should be accomplished by them alone.

I'd like to know who these "Elitists" are that you keep talking about who think they have all the answers. You refer to them in everything you write, but never actually mention who any of them are. I read everything around what you post to try and gain some sort of context for your commentary but it doesn't help.
From now on can you include the names of the people who "have all the answers", "further their own games by keeping Canada divided", and who "think they're the only ones who can get us out of this"?

I think we have a lot of people with strong opinions. I don't know if that necessarily makes them elitist, though.
As for division, I don't think we have that many people who are actually trying to cause tension. We do have people like, me, Muglack and crisfire, and even, you, Foxfire, who like to attack ideas we see as poor, occasionally offering other solutions to the same problem or at least sound reasons as to why we disagree. We go about it with a varying degree of dickishness but I don't think the intent is usually (always?) malicious.
Take this article. You could argue that it's creating division, attacking our new President's idea as if the idea itself were new and not something that pretty much every CP ever has employed to one degree or another. But clearly that's not Mary's intent. She just wants to make things better as I imagine is the case for everyone else I mentioned above.
This group think you speak of seems an awful lot like the Federalist leadership in eUSA.
I'm not surprised.. it's a psychological effect.
Just add Crisfire and that should take care of any possibility of this "Group Think" you speak of.
Actually, Crisfire's been very open to new ideas recently.
