[REPRINT] Kemal's Deleted Article: Some Simple Math

[Kemal Ergenekon] Is the rent too dang high? Some simple math...
Dateline: Saturday, May 17th, 2014 (Day 2370)
Location: Charlotte Motor Speedway, the cheap seats.
Admins deleted Kemal's original article based on the horribly offensive use of foul language. In this reprint you'll find that horribly offensive foul language replaced with the words "dang" and "freaking."
Hey there,
Since eUSforums are so horrible at the moment, I cannot even post a single post despite trying several times. So why not make it an article? I will. The question of the day is: is the work tax worth it? The answer is yes. Here is why:
A Q5 WRM factory produces 250 WRM per WaM click with 0 bonuses. It produces 50 more with each weapons bonus.
50 WRM * 0.05 USD/WRM = 2.5 USD. In other words each weapons bonus gives you 2.5 USD extra revenue per WaM click.
How much work tax would cancel out the benefit of a SINGLE weapons bonus? Let's calculate:
Average Wage: 19.70
WT percentage a SINGLE weapons bonus is worth: 2.5 / (19.70 / 100) = 12.69!!
12.69!!
If 10% WT gets us just a SINGLE weapons bonus in addition to what we would have by NO TAXES, it would be WORTH IT! If all those MPPs, development programs, rental agreements, USAF funding and SCI spending get a SINGLE weapons bonus, then we freaking did it. It was money well spent.
Even from the point of view of a COMPLETELY SELFISH PERSON, it is better to live in a country with 4 weapons bonuses and 12% WT rather than a country with 3 weapons bonuses with ZERO% WT.
There are only two explanations here: Either the people who are against the WT do not know how to do math (perfectly understandable if sad), OR these people are not just selfish, but they actively HATE the government using the money. What do I mean by that? You would rather have 10 dollars rather than you having 14 dollars and giving 2 dollars to the government. That is not called selfish in decision theory; that means you have the preferences of a sociopath. Other people doing well just bothers you. It is the opposite of altruistic preferences.
If you cannot understand the math, you can go to another country with lower bonuses and earn less while thinking you earn more... People did it in the past, and thought they were saving some cents, when they were losing actual dollars. But if they cannot do the simple math above, then what can anyone do?
And as for all the ludicrous claims that WT favors the rich and hurts the poor, they are completely wrong.
The WT benefits the poor because the government distributes it via USAF and development programs to give people tanks who cannot usually afford them. There might be exceptions, but those exceptions generally do not request tanks anyway.
The WT does not favor the rich: Only people with many companies pay a lot of WT (and as I said, despite this, they are still better off). Guess who they are? All the rich people like me, and also those renegades who stole government infrastructure. I buy no gold. I have 74 companies and HAPPY to pay the work tax. Because I KNOW it benefits me in the end. Not because I get anything from the government - I don't. It is because it makes eUS WIN ON THE BATTLEFIELD, AND GET THAT DANG EXTRA BONUS.
Thanks for (not) reading.
Best regards,
Kemal Ergenekon

Oh, the language is just so horribly offensive!

I'm reprinting Kemal's article because
: 1 : I'm calling BULLS**T on whoever reported his article, and Admins for declaring such a common word to be foul and offensive, and
: 2 : the article is, at least to my point of view, in response to Jude Connors' article calling out the government and those in power as "the American Bourgeois Class."
LOL. i like how you single me out, bro!
Never thought I'd see the day you roll over.
Obvious troll is obvious.
GAC been rolling over since o 12.
I had the same thing happen to me
Also got a 3 day content ban for calling the AFA idiots
Higher taxes do yield greater bonuses, maybe if the eUS raised taxes another 10% thr might have full bonuses or they might at least be able to keep the bonuses they have a little better.
I think 12-14% total is probably sufficient.
But you are thinking in the right direction. You should run for eUS CP!
Idk, we're having an easy time stealing your bonus regionally 10%. I'm thinking if you guys doubles the tac it would make it twice as hard.
That direct correlation is weak policy and you know it.
X% goes to budget, X% to reserves or whatever, X% to other budget items, Y% to COs.
A decent increase to support "Y"(COs) is what we are after. Doubling income does not mean doubling COs. Again: you know this.
Well I was thinking you guys should double spending on USAF as well to make them twice as effective.
There is something called diminishing returns that come into play.
For those requesting 'simple math' on how COs relate to bonuses:
Option with eUS able to set COs: probity(bonus) > 0%
Option with eUS unable due to budget to set COs: probability(bonus) → 0%
I have some math on the forums about this as well.... It's kind of a long(er) post, so I hope you don't mind if I link you to it.
http://eusaforums.com/forum/index.php/topic,31532.msg549049.html#msg549049
It's pretty much a response to your thinking.
I read it before. It remains that COs are necessary to win battles over time. Winning battles is correlated to bonuses.
The reserve was designed for a eUS is invaded scenario.
Can you link me to the budget line for COs?
That's exactly why I'm not down with the spending now. SCI spending is out of the rough on COs (obviously not in the budget, as you know :/). That money comes out of...? The FSPA was decent legislature in that it tried to make spenders accountable. If we spent too much, the work tax would go up. If spending wasn't as necessary, the tax would go down. Unfortunately, that's not how it will be. And we haven't even been invaded on top of that. x_x

Well Shit, I am offended by all the swearing, and by that guys beard it looks like he has balls on his chin.
I've never heard such words before.
Since I don't know what they mean, I can't report them.
Thanks.....
I've learned a few new words today.
but i don't think i could say them in front of my mother.
eUSA.....1 Weapons Bonus and were winners.
That's setting the bar high. For yourself and the nation.

You have some proof that it was not easier? That people that worked lost money? I would be interested in that data.
I would be interested in any info you have, please post it. My statement only reflects what I heard in shout and US articles telling people not to work. Since all this is retaliative to the US and does not directly affect me I couldn't care less to show any data.
You're awful upset for someone innocently asking a simple question. It's been my observation that defensive people have something to hide. I know in your case that couldn't possibly be. Maybe you're just having a bad day.

I worked every day through the 25% Work Tax.
might have lost a couple bucks-- very few Companies, so probably not, or not much.
Even at that time all firms beyond Q1 and Q2 were profitable. Well, maybe not Q3 FRM, I have to check for that.
That period help us collect a lot of revenue which helped given that we were depleting our reserves quite fast (recall Oblige's requests).
Where do you see me upset at all? I asked two questions related to your post and said I would be interested in more data.
Seems p 'not upset' and 'not defensive' to me.
Your reply, which is obfuscating and non-responsive, suggests that you either do not have the data or that the date refutes your claim. Kemal has made a claim below that may refute yours. Again: please provide date to back up your claim.
*data not date
Nothing to refute, not making any claim. In the post that was removed I simply stated that what I heard in shouts and articles made me think people were not happy. Kemal's comment is all that I was looking for. He doesn't lie or even color the truth.
You were looking for debate, I was looking for a simple answer.
Well, since you felt the need to kill your comment I guess we are done.
@ Lord Rahl... Looks to me like everyone whose Comment contained *ahem* language.. Are showing as Comment Deleted.
Sad to see someone's grandma in control of the foul language filter.
ahhhhh. Hi Oblige 🙂-
Sorry tdp.

This deserves to be reprinted. Too bad we lost the previous comments which were useful. Kemal's gave 400,000/month as an estimate of revenue lost if Work Tax is reduced by 2%. Gnil spent about 10 times that much for, inter alia, a weapons bonus you can have for free. So: I'm not sure that high work tax is critical to obtaining or holding bonus regions. I do agree that it is critical to establishing lots of COs. The eCanadian war isn't all about bonuses of course. Neither is the WorkTax. You can understand arithmetic perfectly well, not be a sociopath and still believe government can spend money effectively. You can believe that bonuses are beneficial and still think laws should be adhered to, promises kept and half-truths avoided.
This article does a good job making a simple point - It requires something of the reader: continue.
Or you can just stand up, say I'm not a sociopath, it's my ******* money, bugger off with your taxes. 🙂
Well, good that you did some math for the people out there, but
>implying all the companies out there are rubber companies
It's a tax rate of ~8.88% for a saltpeter company, ~6.34% for an alu mine, ...
True, but rubber companies were the best companies by far since gold fell below 400s.
Sorry to use your article, but this needs your attention if you want a fair game 😃
About regions... a single but powerful shout

Tnx!

we had full bonuses long befopre combat orders!
well maybe we could not hold them for a long period but wee were able to achieve it!
instead of telling people how great taxes are, lets get then to donate themselves to military units to fund combat orders to achieve full bonuses!
we need more citizen involvement instead of thinking "most citizens are too dumb to support themselves so we must tax them and use their money to support the citizen." lets think " the citizen is smart and will support themselves if we show them how"
lets publish the military plans showing how we will get full bonuses and where to fight and what the combat orders should be! so small military units know what is going on on a daily basis!
I don't think the majority opinion held by those who favor higher work tax is that the citizenry is too stupid to support themselves. I don't believe that people would use the money that they'd save from lower taxes on Combat Orders to ensure higher bonuses (i.e. people aren't stupid, they're selfish).
Publishing sensitive military plans for the masses (including the enemy) to see is, however, a stupid idea 😛
oh, you saw through my plan! maybe i need to hide it better. because i have my own mu and want to help i need to know which american battles are important, so maybe the government should send me over coppies of all important documents so i know which battles i need usa to win to increase my productivity!

So they don't pay any work tax either. Lol.
They do if they use the 4 factories they start the game with - Q1 Food & 3 Q1 Raw Food
& if I recall correctly one of the missions gives a raw weapon factory
with no WT they were profitable
Q1 FRM factory produces 35-70 FRM depending on bonuses. Given that the actual price of FRM is 0.02 nowadays (it looks like 0.03 but generally most people buy only at 0.02) that means 0.7-1.4 CC before taxes. But wait, what is the cost of 10 health? 0.30 CC. So we are talking about 0.4-1.1 CC here. Yes, the work tax costs 1.2-3.3 CC per day to new players. What an outrage! They can get much more than 1.2-3.3 from the government programs, so they are better off.

If you would like to seek medical assistance, I can help you reach some good doctors. Let me know.
Nice reply, I see you dodged every question and accusation. I will take your silence on those matters as conceding that my points are correct.
I find no use for you.
