[Parliament] 30th - 31st July Session
Speaker of the House
Previous Session
No ongoing business
Current Session
Motion 1: 'Impeachment of CP - Sir Humphrey Appleby'
Guidelines: The CP has become inactive, and is reported by senior cabinet officials to be ducking a variety of communication attempts. The CP has left the country without clear leadership, complicating the decision making process. Additionally this occurs as we find ourselves engaged in war with eUSA, raising the severity from AWOL to Treason.
Motion 2: 'Emergency Procedure - Voting Procedure Clarification'
Guidelines: CPA.3(f) refers to Emergency Procedure, but this is not expanded upon further, this amendment seeks to add the ability to accept a reduced number of votes to expedite emergency issues. The proposed amendment is thus the addition of two parts:
CPA.3(g) An Emergency Procedure once initiated can be considered cleared once one of the following combinations of members of parliament have voted. Should four members of parliament vote against, the procedure immediately becomes a non-emergency and follows standard voting rules.
((Dictator|CP) + (MoFA|MoD) + 3 congress + (Member against votes ((Dictator|CP) + (Other Gov) + 6 congress) + (Member against votes ((Dictator|CP|MoFA|MoD) + Speaker + 2 congress) + (Member against votes
CPA.3(h)Due to the usually secret nature of emergencies, the proposer of the Emergency Procedure or Speaker will be required to reveal to congress the vote clearing combination used.

I have reservations about impeaching the CP, mostly centered around the aftermath. Preferring the status quo of the vCP continuing as acting CP. However I support the notion that a clear message should be sent to all elected officials.

I share similar reservations as Michael Ludgate about the impeachment however it is my hope that the existing cabinet can work closely with James Radcliff and any new appointments to ensure a smooth end of term and transition to the next Country Presidency. However as has been said by others I support the notion that a clear message should be sent to all elected officials about the duty of care that should be upheld when taking on any Government position.
For some reason our treasure trove of Meta stipulates that under a dictatorship an impeachment would mean that the Dictator runs the government and not the 2nd guy on the ballot. I'll be making sure things stay fairly consistent in an announcement should the vote pass.
Thanks Mr Woldy I didn't remember that bit of meta, however it is good to hear as the UK can always rely on you o7
NEIN
A three-week break was clearly stipulated in Appleby's CP manifesto, so why is everyone crying now?
You can't bake a cake and eat the eggshells, I say.

Reminder that you're voting on a motion, and that anything other than the vote isn't applicable. I mention this for the benefit of members who may consider a vote with conditions is possible.
I believe I voted Aye
Followed by my opinion
I guess the Speaker saw ': But only' which is a modification to what comes before - a condition 🙂 I would be confident he understands your intent. As he mentioned before, comments are welcome as long as they don't obfuscate voting.
hence the : 😉
Google 'colon' - "that a writer is separating two clauses of which the second expands or illustrates the first."
Dear Mr Speaker,
When are you going to stop trying to pay yourselves?
Thanks,
Cheetah
Commenting on unrelated comments to aggressively lobby the Speaker is childish behaviour. Seeming as you're incapable of respecting the work done and understanding how things work, I'll treat you to the simpleton answer you seek: '15th July'
Are you telling me Congress is not going to pay themselves now?
The speaker and WRP congressman are refusing to take money
Do you know who is and isn't going to accept "payment" so that I can annoy them?
Parliament sessions are available to everyone: https://www.erepublik.com/en/article/-parliament-12th-13th-july-session-2605590/1/20 A campaign to annoy people is pretty silly though. Your attempts to, quite frankly, unfairly agitate me are going to be more serious than the people who actually voted it - as they've generally got a lot less to worry about and don't need to address the responses for the benefit of other people - in short you'll get ignored. Maybe there's a more effective way.... like maybe shaping the rocks into something useful, rather than throwing them?
I don't know if you've ever tried it but throwing rocks is very fun.

"Any eUK Citizen can propose any idea they have for improvement to either Government or Parliament here. Don't be afraid to share your thoughts in the comments below."
Stop trying to pay yourselves and increase import tax.
"raising the severity from AWOL to Treason"
You'll also find that saying Appleby has committed treason is in fact treason itself.
In the loosest definition, though as we belong to the body of government we don't seek to overthrow it but ourselves making it non-sensical. This is because treason refers to a king/queen/dictator in singularity but a government as a group not a CP specifically.
Good to see people are reading the document and not just click the buttons 🙂
As usual the suggestion box is overflowing with your contributions, and they are appreciated, though I'd point out you don't need to quote bits that aren't in question. Unless of course you're getting at the unintentional, duplicity of the word 'propose' used in the call for contribution from the eUK community with a term used within the circles of congress to mean a specific type of action performed by a member of congress.
So are you going to stop trying to pay yourselves and will you increase import tax?
"As usual the suggestion box is overflowing with your contributions, and they are appreciated"
Why does this get funnier every time i read it?
Don't forget impeaching the Speaker.

I don't see the point in impeaching Applebum in a meta situation, especially as we're almost at the end of the term too. Everybody knows he'll go inactive at some point...I think we were just surprised he lasted this long! I'm sure he's been impeached for inactivity in the past and it's never stopped him running, or being elected again.
Best option is when you see an Appleby term on the horizon, put up a capable candidate as an opponent. Job done.

It's too late, you guys were trolled again, geez what a fail, now elect again AMD to complete the destruction of eUK of America
This whole story is a complete political nonsense. 🙂
eUK is under dictatorship (I know the original reasoning, but in current situation it is not a necessity) - where ONLY the dictator is a 'legitimate' ruling personnel. We/you so called (powerless) congress are debating of sacking a (same powerless) Country President who made no secret from his 1st day in duty, his intent is to be impeached. Too bad, actually none of you have the buttons to push!
What is even more funny/outraging is when you try to vote a kind of salary to yourself, pff. Want to be payed to push the buttons? Find your buttons first! It's a million worth of investment...
1. Nay. He was clear about being away.
2. Aye.
He didn't make anyone aware he was away, this is why he is being impeached.
