[MoFA] This month so far in the ministry!

Day 1,455, 18:25 Published in United Kingdom North Macedonia by Foreign Office

Hello citizens of both the eUK and the world!
This article will deal with the happenings within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the eUK this term so far and we'll cover the reforms that sweeped the ministry this month and other new introductions to the ministry.

Let's start with this month's MoFA staff...

So what exactly have we changed in the ministry? Let me add a bit of context to that: we believed the ambassador system we previously had and many countries still use (but have adapted to their own systems) was, essentially, useless and ineffective. We found that many MoFA workers will have died of boredom by the end of the month and it may have accounted for the decline of MoFA workers this year, up until September when there were no MoFA workers whatsoever. Change was clearly needed.

In previous years, the ministry of foreign affairs was seen as the most popular ministry to get involved in but why then does the ministry of home affairs get more people working for them? This isn't a competition at all, the MoHA has more variation in the tasks set for their workers than those of the MoFA. We have since adapted the MoFA system to suit the worker better.

We introduced, as we call it, the "envoy" system.

Members of the UK MoFA are now given individual tasks to do and to be completed for a set date. There is variation, which contrasts with the previous "gather information from this, this and this country every week for four weeks", and different types of tasks. It means that workers aren't doing the same thing for an entire month. Payment of £200 per task completed is an additional bonus of working in the ministry. This new system allows workers to gain genuine experience whilst working in the ministry: essentially we're training up people to become excellent ministers in the future.

This is what one of our envoys, Ullok had to say about the current system:

The envoy system lets you dip your toe into an ocean of information, rather than throwing people in without a lifejacket. The clock is ticking but the goal orientated nature of the regular tasks introduces new members of the MoFA team to data mining and their counterparts in a laid-back way whilst getting paid. That doesn’t mean it would [...] achieve nothing.

Now I won't say that Mittekemuis and I have brought the ministry back to its former glory: there are still plenty of things left to do and things to change. With the Envoys help, we should be able to have a better influence diplomatically in the future.

Now if you were keeping up to date with our reports on the UK Forums, then you'd know that we have recently been posting articles of interest that our envoys have found in the world. This is a summary of the project as mentioned in the MoFA report for the 13th of November:

This is the research of foreign nations' media module by envoys to find interesting articles that highlight events in a particular country, for example, an article, published by the Slovakian CP, was recently found about Hungarian aggression towards them by the new CP of Hungary. This is what we selected as being interesting reads for the last week (please note that not all nations were researched, not all articles are in English and the project is still in development).

Here are 11 recent examples of finds by our envoys and by mittekemuis and I:

Recently we signed an alliance with the South Asian country of Malaysia. Discussions began after an agreement between Indonesia and Malaysia, which would see Malaysia become more pro-ONE. This agreement resulted in the signing of a new MPP between them and us and hopefully the alliance can offer us and them more in the future.

We'd like to congratulate Indonesia on becoming the first admission to ONE. They are great allies of the UK and for the ONE and pro-ONE groups and hopefully the formalisation of this alliance will bring advantages for us all in the near future.

We are currently in the process of renewing MPPs with both Spain and Poland.

A peace deal, one could call it, has been brokered between us and Canada but with no advantages to either side of ocean in the war that was pretty much endless and essentially un-winnable. We can now focus on Ireland instead of on three different fronts (RWs inclusive).

Internationally, it seems this is treaty week as a number of treaties have been drafted up regarding the relinquishment of regions currently held under foreign control. This includes Germany and Poland striking a deal and Slovenia and Switzerland striking a deal that sees both countries regain original regions.
