[MoFa] How to obtain information.

Day 1,454, 04:24 Published in United Kingdom North Macedonia by Foreign Office

This tutorial will be a guide to have some additional support on your daily tasks at hand.
It is not all that obvious to make a guide to explain it all because foreign affairs isn’t exact science. Things can change rapidly, people get replaced countries change their channels, ect.

1.How to find information ingame.

1.1 world map

As an employer in the foreign affairs department you need to know the world you are playing in. Therefor eRepublik has an handy tool => the world map.

It holds a number of features that gives you an oversight on what is happening in the eWorld. For example:

1.1.1 political map.

See the map above.

1.1.2 active battle map.

This map gives you an overview on where current or past battles are held. You can use if you want to see only a country or for a global overview.

1.2 Elections.

Here you can find out who is country President who are Party Presidents ect.
Normally there is a wiki page about who is where CP for the current month but in the beginning of the term it is not yet up to date.

1.3 Country administration

This is a page where you can find all the administration from every nation in the eWorld. You need to know how to find this page because it is not that obvious...

Once you have pressed the right button you get to see:

Society:

Here you can find all you want to know about population, the region the country has in its possession with details on each region if you need it...

Economy:

This page holds a lot of information! If you want to know what resources they have, what income they generate, countries trading embargoes, …

Politics:

Want to know who is President and what are the positions of various parties? This is the place to be for all that information.

Military:

Can give you an oversight of which MPPs a country has and when they expire. They can tell you what battles they can fight in.

1.4 Newspapers

Looking through newspaper articles is not that easy. You need a healthy dose of patience to go through different categories and different countries.

Best thing you can do is to subscribe to the countries official newspapers and go daily through your subscribed newspapers. Or of course you can go through the category of your interest and start with the top rated article or start with the latest. Put the links down on a notebook.

If you are looking for news in countries that you do not understand their language you need to use Google Translate of an other translator. This is not perfect and sometimes creates funny results but in most cases the translation is accurate enough for the general feeling/context of the article to be understood.

2. How to find information outside the main page.

Playing eRepublik is for most active people in the game not only done in-game. There are other places where you can find information.

2.1 Wiki

wiki
Many countries have up to date or almost up to date information on wiki. You can type in items/words you want information about or you can type in a countries name or a players name to see if he/she has a wikipage.

On the Community communication page of wiki you can find countries forum links and IRC links. Which brings us to an other way to track information.

2.2 Forums

Most countries also have a forum they play on. You will have to register on the forum to get a feel on the community but it is next to IRC the best place to interact with people from other countries. You can ask question and participate in forum topics.

2.3 IRC

My personal favourite place for gathering information and to get to know people is the direct contact you get on IRC. Like with the forum you can find almost any country channel on the Community communication page of wiki. As you are part of the foreign affairs department it is best you know the various foreign affairs channels to. I will publish a list here but I can’t promise they will all be valid in the future. Countries often change their channels when other governments come in cabinet. The best thing to do is go to the country IRC and just ask for MoFA channel. Some channels have them up in the topics you can read in the country channel.
