[MoFa]follow up on the tutorial

A few weeks back I made a tutorial on how to obtain information for the foreign affairs department . In that article http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/-mofa-how-to-obtain-information--1903138/1/20
I learned you the basics on what you need to know to do your job. Only gathering information isn’t enough to become a minister of foreign affairs.

A long time ago I wrote something I would like to share with you:

* First off all you don’t forget to work and train like every other soul in the eWorld.

* Make sure you are subscribed to the most important governmental newspapers. That would be Government as MoD newspapers.

* Look for these newspapers and read them.

* Make for yourself a gdoc or some other kind of document you can share. You can write the most interesting facts you learned on there. For example, who is fighting who, interesting topics you read about what is going on in the home affairs from different countries, who signed alliances with who and so on.

* Motivate your ambassadors to go on the forum of their country and let them report interesting things. Try and go yourself too.

* Come on IRC and go on to different channels. If you introduce yourself in English most of the time there will be people who can answer you.

These are a few pointers I wrote down but being MoFa needs a certain attitude as well. You have to dare to go on IRC channels even when you don’t really know people. You just say I am MoFa and I would like to talk with … or you just go even bolder and just PM the country president or most likely the minister of foreign affairs. The reason you are out there is because as MoFa you need to know people. Knowing people gets you the edge on others. It gets easier when you have done it a few times.

I know it is easier said then done but you got to remember that even does people are just players like you and I. Most of them are nice people once you get to know them.

example on a basic talk amongst MoFa:

me: Good evening Sir; I am the minister of foreign affairs from the UK.
How are you?
X : Fine thank you; How are you?
me: Fine thank you. Can I ask you a question?
Can we talk about an MPP with your country? Can you arange a meeting with you CP?
X: …

From there on you continue the conversation 🙂

If you would feel better with some negotiating skills then I suggest your read about it. Again I am spamming my own work but maybe you can find it usefull. http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/politics-part-3-the-art-of-negotiating--1874939/1/20
