[MoD] Update on the Pakistan Aggression on Belgium

Day 2,338, 13:28 Published in Belgium Belgium by Belgian Investment Bank

Greetings Citizens,

These were an interesting few days for eBelgium, at least in terms of the military aspect of the game. We usually don't have much fun regarding this, but now is the chance to shake things up a bit.
As you know ePakistan made an Airstrike on eBelgium a few days ago targeting Brussels. This was highly unexpected considering we had MPP with them recently, but that was their decision alone and it was not provoked by eBelgium in any way or form.

Anyway, we think that they've prepped well before doing this because they were signing multiple MPP's before and during the Airstrike law countdown. They signed MPP's with Asteria sides: Serbia, Argentina, China and Slovenia. But we reacted in a similar manner and signed MPP's with some Sirius countries. USA and Turkey to be precise. Funds for the war were also approved, in the form of 100 gold from the State for signing the extra MPP's, setting CO's and for buying tanks for supply.
The initial attack on Brussels - and later the attack on Wallonia - you already know what happened... The plan was to give our best in the initial attack, try to defend and deny them from landing on European soil, and I can say we did that, we gave our best alongside our allies. We received help from most Sirius nations as we were first priority of Sirius and a lot of foreigners helped us also. However, we were not strong enough for it and we got somewhat overrun in the beginning phase of the battle, later it was okay, but it was clear that they are stronger than us. As I've said they came in really well prepared and got some massive support and tanking from Asteria countries. I will quote Jofroi here as he put it very nice: "I don't know why they wanted to win so badly, but they have put a lot of energy and money to win that battle (just look at the top 5 from their side and our side, I believe that eBelgium has never seen such a big battle in its history)". We spent a lot of resources on the battle for Brussels, at least halfway through it, because when we realized that it was a lost cause we decided to not further weaken our positions and limit any further losses.
The battle in Wallonia was an easy task for ePakistan since we didn't focus on it, there was no supplying and it was not a prio for us as well as for Sirius.

About the next actions. We wait for their attack on Flanders now, we'll have a little boost there since we launched a Natural Enemy law on ePakistan that will pass in a couple of hours. We'll have 10% bonus damage against them, but I don't think that will be enough for us if they continue fighting like in the previous battles. We recon that the best strategy at the moment is that we don't focus too much on eBelgium and help our allies in their important battles, as has been said in the latest MoD Daily Orders article. This will be the case for Flanders as well. When we get wiped we'll regroup, make preparations and come even stronger in the RW's and try to free Belgium.
There are some indications that ePakistan has no intention of keeping our territories under their control so we expect that the Resistance Wars will not be tough to win and we would therefore not overspend on that. What are their plans - if it's not keeping us wiped - we still don't know. Maybe our regions will be used only for transit to their intended destination, seeing that they have a massive Asteria backing we recon that they intend to maybe attack an important Sirius country. This scenario is very familiar to us, but we'll just have to wait and see. Only time will tell.

Until that time comes, we have our things to worry about in the immediate future and that is the coming RW wars. Get ready, get stocked up and prepare for the liberation of eBelgium.

Hail Sirius!
Hail Belgium!

Sincerely Yours,
e Vladimir - Minister of Defense
