[MoC] Irish Gladiator Tournament II: Round 2

Now that the first round has come to an end, lets settle in for round two and enjoy a recap of the action!

TEAM A vs TEAM C


As the first two teams entered the arena, the fans went wild. When the match started, Luke Grenier and BBBQX11 quickly disposed of Paul McClure and Mr Tayto. It was over so quickly that Luke and BBBQ locked arms in celebration at their feat. By that time Uljanov, who had given everything to stay matched in a lock with Beidnymis, gave in and was tossed some 20 feet in the air. When he hit the ground, Beidny jumped onto his back and tore him into pieces, tossing his limbs to various members in the crowd. Unfortunately Luke and BBBQX were oblivious to this as they were still dancing in celebration of their victory. Within seconds a handful of audience members were given twice as many “souvenirs”.

TEAM B vs TEAM D


Sweet Drinker knew he couldn’t beat the legend Nerusia alone. He charged after Joshua Morriseau hoping to take him out quickly and outnumber the Dragon. Unfortunately Nerusia intercepted and cleaved Sweet's head right off, which fell into Klynn’s hands. The viking warrior Morriseau then leaped towards a stunned Klynn and sliced him almost in two. Meanwhile Ian Passmore and Lady Dorotea had been in a fierce match up. Dorotea gave everything she had but lost focus when she saw Nerusia and Morriseau heading her way, enabling Passmore the killing blow.

TEAM E vs TEAM G


“Banshee! Banshee! Banshee!” the fans shouted as Ice Drake Shyvana, the former tournament champion, entered the arena. The match was fierce. Though everyone thought Shyvana and Winston Hope Smith would make the match, the show was stolen by Release the Krakken and Slaugh, who fought ferociously for nearly 10 minutes. Sapi.tempur had trained hard with her teammates but doubted herself against dePeatrick. Therefore it shocked her when she crushed him in one blow. With a new confidence in herself and her team, she sat down to recover as her teammates fought on.

Slaugh and Winston faced the same predicament. They both seemed evenly matched with their foes yet came just short in every attack. Just when they thought the match was turning in their favor RTK and Shyvana would turn up the heat. It began to feel like they were being force to take part in a scripted scene where their opponents directed every second. Eventually they could hold out no more and were synonymously decapitated, back to back in the middle of the arena.

TEAM F vs TEAM H


Liam Tatlock and Uncle Bulgaria battled one another with massive respect, both from the same militia with Liam at the helm. Bulgaria tried his hardest and refused to give in but eventually fell to one knee, bleeding heavily. Liam hesitated. “You have to do it. We have no choice.” Bulgaria spoke quietly. In one swing of Liam’s blade it was over. Meanwhile Spursred and Frank Dobbs were evenly matched until Dobbs saw Bulgaria fall. Spursred then snapped his neck within a second of the event.

Finally, Shytach, who was actually motivated by team’s success, took advantage of a devastated Gallifreyan, who too was in shock at Bulgaria’s death at his own Commanders hands. As he walked over the bodies of his fallen friends Liam gazed up at the emperor with rage as their eyes locked among the cheering crowds.

The first 4 matches were intense to say the least. It’s going to take a few hours to clean up the mess. Already fans are choosing their favourites (and nicknames of course) for the tournament.

All spectators are encouraged to check into any one of our pubs on the lower floors of the Arena. Round two is underway but the fun has only begun so there’s plenty of time to get nice and saucy.
