Howye

Lotto results first. Congratulations to H.S. Thompson and Reactionist, who both guessed the first lotto number correctly (9). The jackpot of 85 IEP was split between them. Don't forget about Saturdays lotto!

Now, for an interview. As the presidential elections are coming up, I will (try) to interview each candidate, just so as you can get an idea of who's who.

Where you get to live as CP. Horse not included.

The first one is with the most recent candidate, Digits.

Enjoy!

Me: So, digits, how are you this fine evening?
Digits: I'm in good form johnmcf, and yourself?

Me: Ara, not too bad at all. So, first off: Digits. Why just loads of numbers?
Digits: I use it everywhere on the internet, it was actually my student id number when I was at college. It means with 99.99% certainty that someone won't have the same username as me

Me: So it isn't the product of button mashing when trying to choose a username?
Digits: Nope, although I once knew a player who did that. He didn't last though

Me: So, why have you decided to run for CP?
Digits: I have unfinished business in this game. I was going to run a long time ago but circumstances got the better of me. I'm running because I'm capable of the job, I have the experience and skills necessary, and because Ireland needs a steady hand at the helm in order to move forward, but also to take the tough decisions.

Me: Give us an insight into what you have done in eIreland so far
Digits: I've done pretty much every job there has been to do in Ireland - I've worked in every department, spent a lot of time in the Dáil, led the military, been a company owner, the list goes on ...I'll give a full list a some point

Me: Your best and worst events in erep?
Digits: My favourite memories are the first couple of presidential elections between IUP and IRSP and when I founded the Community Ministry thereafter. My worst moment is a tough one, but I'd probably have to go with the sense of isolation I felt after 1 month in charge of the army.

Me: What would be your main aim as CP?
Digits: My main aim would be to provide open and transparent government to Irish citizens, through daily communication. I want people to have a sense of certainty, and that can only come through having a balanced economy, military and government.

Me: And how would you do that?
Digits: Simply, daily articles, answering all questions asked, having a long term and agreed budget, consultation with the people both in congress and out, tweaking the systems we already have in place to improve efficiency, and encouraging citizen participation in government as much as possible.

Me: What about from a military perspective? Could you see yourself joining an alliance, or even invading somewhere?
Digits: Ireland is still a member of the Eden alliance. However, I want to make it clear that this month, Ireland needs a campaign. We need something to stoke the interest, unite the population under one goal, something that makes you want to logon everyday to see what will happen next, to contribute to the cause. I will actively seek out such a campaign. with consensus from the congress, and the people.

Me: If you were admin for a day......
Digits: I'd boil the headless chicken and serve it as food for that day.

Me: lol. Ever consider quitting erep?
Digits: I have taken long vacations before, notably from January to October. This game does suck, after all

Me: So way do you stay?
Digits: I have some good friends here that I still keep in contact,, but mainly because I have an in-grained sense of public service, and this game gives me good practice

Me: Who do you have the most respect for?
Digits: That is a hard question. There are and have been so many talented people here in Ireland. I'll plump for Sean Power, because I have faith in his integrity and his opinions.

Me: I think that's enough. anything you want to add?
Digits: Thanks for the interview, and to all you Irish out there, keep the faith agus tóg go bog é.
