[MDP] We Traded Our Shovels For Guns

Day 2,256, 19:37 Published in Canada Canada by Muglack

Well, I guess we got what we wanted. A war.

A week ago I wrote an article talking about the new direction I would be taking the MDP. How I was more interested in building bridges and bringing the country together rather than digging trenches and growing the divide between the interested parties in this country. I sent out a call asking like minded people to respond in the comments or in PMs if they were like minded and wanted to help with this initiative.

I received 2 replies.

That's it. 2. Talk about a let down.

I expected to have to break trail to get where I wanted to be, but I didn't expect an uphill battle as well. But so it goes, and I'm ready for the challenge.

Lucky for me I guess that the factions have quieted down since the three front war has broken out. It seems that history is repeating itself, and while we have a war with outsiders we're willing to put aside our petty differences and fight together. I only hope the tradition holds and we're able to use it as a starting point to make real progress.

Now on to other matters.

Congress elections are looming. While I don't think I need to tout the effectiveness of the MDP in those hallowed halls I think it's customary for me to do so anyway. MDP's track record for being involved and pushing debate and issues is well documented. We're a party full of leaders, and when this country needs players to step up ours members are normally the first to their feet. In a time of war we need experienced players that know how to get things done in what might be our last Congress for a long long time. Make sure that you do your part to make sure it's an effective one.

You can rest assured that a vote for the MDP on the 25th is never a vote wasted. Whether it's the 1st member on our ballot, or the 15th none of our candidates are throwaways.

That's all for now. I'll write a post election breakdown on the 26th as well as unveil the council.
