[ILP PP] ILP - Working hard for eIreland

Day 1,792, 15:21 Published in Ireland Ireland by Winston Hope Smith

Comrades,

Thank you for entrusting me with leading the party; I will endeavour to meet and exceed your expectations.

I am convinced that the future of eIreland rests in the hands of new players, people with fresh ideas and energy. With this in mind I have promoted two newcomers to the game to leadership positions in the ILP: Liam Tatlock (Vice Party President: VPP) and Comrade Lovely (Secretary General: SG). Both are extremely active, intelligent and committed to eIreland. We need more people like them.

Central Committee

To facilitate recruitment, shape ILP decision-making and co-ordinate elections, I am announcing the establishment of a Central Committee (CC). To remain competitive we must develop into a more disciplined, more democratic and better organised force in eIreland's politics. I invite interested ILP members to message me ingame about joining the CC.

Country President elections

Consider this article the starting gun for the race to become the ILP's candidate for CP. We have lessons to learn here. For the next 7 days, prospective candidates can message me ingame. We will expect thorough disclosure and conduct our own, rigiourous vetting. The ILP will continue to reject any candidate who has question marks hanging over their integrity.

Only current party members will be considered for ILP candidature. All other prospective candidates should seek the nomination of another PP. I will only consider such candidates that come through their PP.

Congress elections

Elections for the new congress are almost upon us. I am committed to fighting for every seat. I encourage prospective candidates to declare their candidacy now. If you feel compelled to serve eIreland and think you can do that well in Congress, please stand. There are no restrictions on the number of candidates and where they run. The order of candidates will be determined the day before the elections by myself in conjunction with the VPP, the SG and the Central Committee.

Prospective candidates will be judged on the following criteria:
1) Honesty
2) Activity
3) Efforts to develop the ILP
4) Experience (we will actively seek to promote less experienced players)

Our competitors are well organised and unscrupulous. The ILP can only win by putting forward a positive argument for a fairer, more accountable, and more prosperous eIreland. But for that message to be heard we have to innovate in how we organise ourselves. We have to attract new citizens and retain them. We have to build on our status as the party of honesty and ideas, a party that offers opportunities to all who share our values.

Comrades,

Ní dhéanfaidh smaoineamh an treabhadh duit.

Until next time
