I made no secret of my intention to influence the ILP to concentrate more on effective game practices rather than existing as a vehicle of simple political ambition.
I left the party recently having failed in that endeavour.

Winston this article is a shining example of why.
There is much about methods for expanding your party's political power.
There is nothing of addressing serious issues the ILP needs face.

Recently you 'took ownership' of the biggest theft in Irish history via comment with a simple "It happened on our watch, so we're responsible.".
But it didn't "happen on your watch". It happened because senior members of ILP were not watching. That's what you need to take ownership of.

Grand statements like "Working hard for the ppl" and "the youth are our future" are very effective at garnering membership and votes.

The truth is that ILP leadership publishing erroneous articles, running CP candidates with limited experience (or completely unvetted), and being so lax in basic security measures that our bank was wiped out, is anything but "working hard for the ppl".

Indeed "the youth are our future". This is a very popular phrase. It's not putting inexperienced/untested ppl in positions of power that ensures our youth's future.
It's skilled leadership PRESENT, that ensures the future of our youth, and our entire country.

Over the past few months ILP leadership has shown very weak standards of practice, and being the political monster that ILP is, it's given the opportunity for these weak practices to permeate the government itself. With dire consequences.

I'm surely not the only person who would much prefer to see an article from the ILP outlining how ILP intends to address the fundamental flaws in their docterines, rather than an article promoting the collection of yet more political power from an institution that appears to be in denial that there is a problem in there house at all.

Atm ILP is the bull in eIreland's china shop.

Sweet Drinker, I think WHS spells out very clearly that as of today (actually right now if you're participating in the shared thread) a conversation is underway to flesh out out exactly those specific proposals that you're asking for. Remember, WHS was only elected yesterday. Give us a chance. Moreover, ILP membership continues to grow, despite the horrendous events of the previous ILP administration, suggesting that eIreland recognises these are problems of everyday practice, not principle.

Winston has been a party principal for well over a year Comrade.
And previous PP, party forum administrator, government minister, even CP under the ILP flag.

To say that he is only just taking up a leadership role in the party now isn't accurate.
And central ILP members were warned numerous times on the danger of their practices for quite a long time.

ILP's use of popular social memes is as I said above, highly effective. The party's growth is not testament to it's validity.

Infact it is an illustration of the point I'm making.
WHS has never hidden the fact that playing party politics is paramount to his play.

The expansion of the ILP membership, the increase in numerical superiority of the ILP in congress, the forwarding of ILP banner candidates for CP. All of these have taken precident over the welfare of the country at large.

Political power is supposed to be a means to an end.
For too long in the ILP political power IS the end, regardless of the quality of they put into power.

The practice IS the principle.

SD - people make mistakes. Beans made an error of judgement and we have all paid for it. I was a newb in bootcamp. I know what it's like to have the supplies turned off. But it's never going to happen again. SAWC was removed as the ILP CP candidate before he went on his stealing spree. Some safeguards were in place and they were adhered to. Now more need to be erected. This isn't a mortal blow to the credibility of the ILP, it's a lesson learnt.

And the argument that WHS is political and so bad is laughable. Politicians are more sensitive to the needs of the electorate. I've hung out with the oldies who think they should control eIreland by virtue of their monopoly of experience. They don't give two sh**s about new players; they certainly don't listen. There's a reason ILP broke the monopoly of the ICA and their ilk and it's not because they're a navel-gazing party machine, it's because they offer new people, like me, opportunities.

Incorrect. Major safeguards were in place, ILP leaders removed them, the country got robbed.
Trust me, they were my safeguards.

But if you truly are a player with < 1mnth experience as your profile suggests, then it is irresponsible of your party to put you in a leadership role as opposed to an experienced player.

It's great PR for the party cuz it attracts new players to join. but it is not good for the country at large.
if this game is anything, it is long. NC's should be learning how things actually work from senior members. Not thrust into lead asap

The old, rejecting the new while trying to hold on to the way things have been done regardless whether or not there are potentially better ways. And the new, relentless in it's efforts to plan for the future while dismissing the close minded old. Rejection of the naive new, or dismissal of the close-minded old. It's your choice people, in RL and Erep.

And it's not an insult to all new and old players. There are those open-minded experienced players, just like there are newer players with solid ideas. The shame is that most of them leave or don't get involved enough to change things.

As a philosophy student I can't ignore the majors logical flaws to your arguments, the sophisms used and the lack of proper rethoric. WHS has for a long time worked behind the scenes to change how Sweet ran the bank, and who had access to it. As usual, playing politician was more important to him than anything else. And it still is.

ILP carry too much ideological bullshit that does nothing to improve the country. The last 4 months of failures are a result of that.

This isn't a philosophy course Damhnaic, & I've no interest in rhetoric.

You personally wrote/published an article proclaiming that the bank had been drained in the previous term when it actually had a mid 7 figure reserve.

You personally later ran an article proclaiming party support and encouraging others to vote for SAWC.
Which was taken down after someone (apparently outside ILP) warned you.

Oh Sweet, you are clearly misguided, because the article I wrote consisted of Malbeck and Ethel message and I was asking people to NOT vote for Sawc. It caused Sawc anger who left the party and so his candidacy was taken down, so I took down the article. Don't spread lies.

As for the information for the bank, i corrected myself and offered my sincere apologies; I do not pretend I was the best PP ILP had, and I had not much time to do much fact finding. But I do think, yes, a message should be crearly said, without sophisms and fake arguments. I didn't argue on the facts yet because I'm writing a full article destorying each of your "arguments" one after the other.

Just to say Damhnaic is correct, the article was asking people NOT to vote for sawc as we had been given information as to his "chequered" past.

Information that a lot of people knew but apparently didn't share hence the new vetting procedures we will be implementing.

SD - the safeguards I referred to relate to the internal ILP mechanisms concerning CP candidate selection. Clearly they worked, if only belatedly as SAWC was dropped from the ticket because of suspicions surrounding his past, suspicions that were confirmed days later.

Yes it can harm it. Many real life ideologies simply do not fit into the mechanical world of eRep. Costly examples of why this is true can be seen by the results of policies implemented by ILP on the grounds of their ideology.

Ireland, a country that was succeeding far beyond anything a country of it's size should be, was deemed to be too dictatorial by the ILP.

Strong Governments took strong positions on matters and directed Congress on how they should vote.

So ILP went about imposing a more "democratic" system. They created a system whereby it was acceptable for a Government to sit back and not make a call either way, letting democracy put us in a war with a super-power that ended in utter embarrassment for Ireland.

Then, also on the grounds of ideology, they decided that access to the state treasury should also be more democratic and open. So open that a MoFA(wtf?) was given access to 3 million IEP that he ran off with.

These policies were implemented by the ILP over the past 4 months.

Doing what makes the ILP feel all warm and fuzzy inside is not the same thing as doing what's best for Ireland.
