[IA] MU Update

Day 2,884, 10:30 Published in Ireland USA by Raven Anarcho

Good day soldiers,

There's been much progress lately so its a swell time for an update.

✯REGIMENT ORGANIZATION✯

Regiments have been restructured by divisions. This makes communication much easier and makes for better preparation for future tournaments. Each regiment has it's own thread now and the threads will be updated every few weeks.

✯IRISH ARMY SUPPLY✯

A few soldiers in D1 have already signed up to bootcamp, where they will receive a weekly supply of tanks depending on how active they are militarily. I expect at each thread update a few more will sign up. The other divisions have already started purchasing tanks as well at very good prices from the MU.

✯CO FOR DIV1 FIGHTERS✯

COs will be on and off during our upcoming fights with Portugal. They will be applied to D1 Irish Army only and will come from private donations by myself and the captains/commander. This is to help out some of our lower leveled fighters who are currently active on the battlefield.

✯MEET THE COMMANDER✯

A brief interview with our Commander:

Shytach

RA: So where are you from?

Shytach: actual US. Louisiana if youd like a bit more.

RA: What do you like best about this game?

Shytach: i get to shoot people. with a tank.

RA: What attracted you to the Irish Army?

Shytach: that IA wasn't a political MU.

RA: In one word how would you describe our MU?

Shytach: dying 🙁

RA: What improvements would you like to see for the IA?

Shytach: more members. more activity. free cheesecake.

RA: Thanks for your time. o7

✯FREE CHEESECAKE✯

As per orders from the commander, we are issuing 100 free Q3 cheesecake to all Irish Army that request in the comments below.

Oh yes. It's really happening.

Yes that's 25 free cheesecakes for those IA lads/lassies that comment for it below.

✯CHALCO HILLS: A SOLID ADDITION TO THE TEAM✯

An interview with one of the newer fighters in the ranks:

Chalco Hills

RA: Tell me a little about yourself.

Chalco Hills: I was silly enough to join erepublik on the promise of a good economic simulation. Despite how screwy that part of the game is, I focused mainly on business for a long time and scraped out profits here and there, and eventually managed to build something out of it. I think I was luckier than anyone who came along later and tried to do the same thing, because I think it got harder and harder over time, especially for lower end goods. Since I built the business first instead of building strength, I don't pack as much punch by now as maybe I should.

RA: What brings you to Ireland?

Chalco Hills: I started in the eUSA, and one thing that got harder and harder about trying to run a business there was ever increasing tax rates. I complained about that for a long time, but it just got worse. It seems to me that the high taxes basically enslave newer players. The high taxes skew everything toward big communes. (I haven't written a lot of articles, but the first one I ever wrote, back close to when I started, went into a lot of detail about that.)

So I reached the point where I was either going to lose interest in ereublik altogether, or try moving somewhere where my more independent style of play wasn't discriminated against so much. This propaganda piece by An Sluagh planted the idea of Ireland in my head, and when I looked into it a week or two later, the tax rates were just really appealing, and at the time the bonuses were really good also. Of course, just as I was applying for citizenship the bonuses started going away, so that part needs some work.

RA: What are your initial thoughts of the community so far and what would you like to see change/improve?

Chalco Hills: I haven't really been around long enough to feel like I can say too much, but people have been decent to me so far and I hope we can do good things. The main thing I'd like to improve is to turn the tides of war, free our home territory and expand to get some good bonuses going again. I hope that the low taxes continue and I'd rather contribute voluntarily than through high taxes, and I've been trying to help the cause by doing just that.

RA: Great stuff and thanks for your time. o7

That's it for today. See you all on the battlefield,

Always In The Fight o7
