Let me start this article by reiterating what we have achieved and by thanking each and every one of you who contributed to this process. Firstly, we have all been outraged when we learned that Admins changed the rules of pollution after the Resource War event was done. It greatly benefited one specific country, but the bigger problem is that the the other 73 countries were left in the dust with choices they made based on the old rules.

You could argue that these rules did not change significantly, but country leaders will tell you that they feel cheated that they were told different rules, and a lot of them would have chosen a different placement if they knew about these changes. These leaders, and consequently their countries were quite simply lied to.

As a next step, we massively voted up a protest article so that it smashed through any records of articles in the past few years and reached more than a thousand votes in 2 days. I have seen hundreds of players sharing this article on my shout wall, in circulars, and on IRC. As a reminder, 300 days ago it took 570 votes to keep the epic battle rules from being nerfed. We now have a smaller community and still managed to reach twice as many votes, it is an amazing achievement.

Finally we took the fight to the Forums and demanded them to own up to their shady manipulations. So many passionate comments were posted demanding fair treatment that at one point I have run into this:

Their choice

Admins saw the massive uproar from the community and realized that they cannot get away with ignoring it. Players from all around the world, regardless of alliances or any other affiliations came together and demanded a stance.

What can you do in this position? Do you give in to the demands or do you weather the storm? Really, it would have been easy to just revert the changes and emerge with the image of a caring and thoughtful leadership, like they did 300 days ago:



Instead, however, they decided to discredit me and downplay the issue.

1) They brought the writer's nationality into the issue and made it seem like a formal Hungarian point of view - because of my nationality, which I never brought up - which is a bigoted step, really. Am I allowed to write an article about Admins lying without bringing in my nationality, or do I have to keep my mouth shut because you'd bring it up anyway? Does my nationality affect the veracity of the facts presented in my article in any way? Of course it doesn't, and it shouldn't. I am not speaking for Hungary, I am speaking for all those players who voted and endorsed my article.


A later point (#8 on the Forum) simply says, if these regions are so good, why doesn't Hungary conquer them? As if conquering a region would solve the problem where all countries were exploited. This is a truly irritating response that demonstrates a lack of understanding about the gravity of the situation.


2) They misrepresented the issue as if it was the writer's personal stupidity (and fault).



Except it's not really a speculation to assume that a value is based on exactly the things they say it is based on. Assuming any further factors (be it industry, military rank or newspaper subscribers, etc.) has no basis at all --> that is real speculation! There are multiple instances of them saying the same thing over and over again about number of works, with no mention at all about any other factors. Here is one instance:

Another reason why this attempt at me is despicable is because it's clearly not about me: this is what the 1000+ votes signify! You have seen the comments. You have seen the forum posts. Attacking the messenger of a thousand voices is as pointless as a bald hedgehog 🙂 It also goes on to show that you still don't understand this community.

3) Finally, Admins insulted all players who agreed with the article by calling it "a very fine piece of propaganda".

Admins say, if you voted, endorsed or shared this article, you were fooled by a propagandist: me. They think I managed to brainwash more than a thousand people with a nonexistent issue!

Basically, what they said with this is their player base is a bunch of manipulable morons who are easy to trick. This is what eRep Admins think of you.

So this is it. This is their choice. They have made it and soon I will be making mine. Please carry on to the next article to read it.
