Perception depends on the place from which you look. If you are Cromstar (a random example, honest) you stand in a high place where information, accomplishments and decisions are readily visible. If you are new or just 2-clicking or not very active or talking only to each other (by candlelight, in a drafty garret or a dank basement), your view is very different. You must climb up on the ramparts to see clearly.

That social climbing (it’s a “social game”) could be as bad as trying to get into management when you started in the mail room. You may find it not worth your time and effort and stop. You may not be able to stomach some of the manure (I’m sure there is a pony or two around) and find rage. You may “arrive” and find the “cool kids club” is not so cool. That’s okay, it’s just a game.

My point of course is not to see the members of the “cool kids club” as elitists. Show willing. Show that they want to take you up. Demonstrate that they can depend on you and trust you to do your best to help the USA. Remember that most of them actually care about the USA doing well and not about their egos. [Insert dig at RGR here] Most abhor the thought of the USA being run by fools, but desperately desire more sharp eyes. Sharp eyes to be with them on the walls.

Rise up and look around.
