[eCBC] The eHour With CP Candidate Quentin Carlson

Day 2,602, 09:02 Published in Canada Canada by Acacia Mason

Good Morning eCanada,

Before I begin, I would like to remind you that there is a survey being conducted which will allow you the chance to help shape the direction the incoming CP takes. If you have not already done so, I strongly encourage you to take some time to answer this VERY brief survey. Your answers are kept anonymous so please answer with candour. The link to the survey can be found here:

January Presidential Focus Survey

I recently had a chance to sit down with CP Candidate, Quentin Carlson, for a fireside chat about politics, motivations, and his plans for the Nation if elected.

Enjoy!

1) You have been playing eRep since … what is it that keeps you engaged and heavily involved in game mechanics?

started erepublik almost 3 years ago, I joined the Independent Legion when it was running realy good with Nosyt and Macubex. I was very weak and alone so I asked a veteran to loan me some gold and started upgrade my training ground. This week, almost 3 years after my beginning, all my training ground are now quality 4. I got stronger and started to win BH medal and it was fun! Then new medal was added. I enjoy collecting them all. I also like the raise of action since I get more involved.

2) You are currently running for CP. Having never done this job before, what do you think your biggest challenge will be?.

The biggest challenge from my point of view is to get the thrust of Canadian citizen and deal with the critics.

3) Being CP is a big job and the time commitment can be astronomical. It is definitely not a job for the casual player. What is it that drives you to want to be CP?

For me, running for CP is the extension of my political career. I was a congress member at 10 occasions, Party president of PFC at 9 occasions (from may2014 to present). What drives me to sit in the chair of President is to handle the responsibilities that came with the position.

4) You have served Congress many times, Is your heavy involvement in politics a reflection of your RL ambitions and interests or is it a chance to do something you would never consider doing in RL?

I don’t think the RL opportunities are going to lead me to a term of Prime Minister, but I always had an interest for the politic and the legislation.

5) If elected, you will be inheriting a Nation that will be either occupied,or just coming out of occupation. How does that impact your overall vision for January?

What I see for January is a team of good person working together to keep Canada on the map by politic actions first and military actions in second.

6) Lets play a game…no pun intended. You have just been elected CP for January. What are the first 3 things you immediately act on?

First, I will be doing a PM thread including all the person of my cabinet to start the discussion.
Second, I’ll update the Country administration page as per my cabinet information
Third, I’ll contact the new CP of all the country included in our MPP relations and present them the cabinet of Canada for January.

7) There have been some tremendous CP's before you. Is there stress that comes from the optics of living up to the accomplishments of your predecessors or do you view each months CP as a one off and focus solely on your own legacy?

I don’t want to put unnecessary stress on my shoulder. The important is to stay calm and start the communication as soon as possible. Some of the last CP will be helping me on my cabinet or as adviser. I am talking of Thedillpckl that will be on the MoD and DMV3 that will act as an adviser.

8 ) Lets assume you're not elected in January. What's your plan B?

My plan B if I am not elected is to support IBB on his term of CP. I will propose myself as adviser and relation between the PFC members and the government.

9) If I asked you for one word and one word only that would best describe your character, what would that word be?

Optimist.

10) If you could offer just one piece of advice to new players who aspire to be CP, what would that advice be?

Be patient. Don’t waste your gold on EB and stuff like that. Get involve the most you can or it will be boring.

Thank you Quentin, and good luck in the coming Election!
