Strongly supported, this is a good occasion for those who aren't used to read officials newspaper to start reading them, learning a lot of things about eRepublik and at the same time having a reward for their time.

There's so much to learn out of these articles.

It is important that government articles get read by all eBe citizens, so hopefully this will help with that.
And in the mean time, everyone can use the BEF-reward 😉

No, this is just wrong. Like bread and circus wrong. Support citizens to improve their strength, to level up, to buy/work in strategic industries - but not for their approved comments to govt articles.

I think you misunderstood about the idea of approved comments. This does not mean that comments have to agree with government policies. They just have to show, in a respectful way, that citizens have read the articles. Your comment, while disagreeing, certainly qualifies.

Maryam - it is not this government nor these individuals that concern me. Knowing human nature all too well, this will give ideas to those who are inclined to mischief and mayhem.

But eBe already support citiezn to improve their strength, level up and build their industry. In addition to all these things, they are now supported if they read the government articles and make a comment on them. That the government reserves the right not to reward insults seems logic to me and I don't see what is wrong with stimulating people to read government articles, they are often very useful by telling you what happens in eBe.

It's a good initiative to motivate young citizen to read, but can't this money be spent somewhere else, where it can be truly useful ? Cause it seems for me like a massive giveaway.

Many times I read and vote eBE governmental articles and even sometimes I do comment.
This time I saw many comments, that is an improvement. However I agree with Thomas Keesman.

Hooo dear government, this is the kind of thing which could make me coming back from my retirment sooner than expected.

You all mighty, you know how greedy I am and I shall respond to every article with the proper and delighted comment.

Well, is a good idea, but i think this is a waste of money at the end of the day.

But, after all, this kind of measures improves the wallet of many people that need some extra money. 🙂

I guess I deserve that kind of reward as I've always been commenting articles on regular basis.

But I wonder if it's a good thing. Actually, I'm divided, I see good and bad points and I canno't make up my mind. One sure thing is that it's the first cut to be done if the government has to stop some subsidies.

Instead, why not instead giving money to the people writing interesting or fun articles ?

one should not ask 'why not instead... ?', one should ask 'why not as well... ?'
eBe can afford currently to give out these subsidies and it will stimulate people to read government articles, cause a minority of people is informed about what is happening. It doesn't discriminate between forum and non-forum citizens, so it is a good thing.
Indeed, one should also promote activity and community building and I'm glad to announce that congress is currently voting a law that would organize an event that would support people that have been active.

People should not be looking to these subsidies and support programs as "What you like more: X or Y?" but "we have X, Y and Z, what else can we do in addition to come towards the best mix of subsidies?"
