[DemNL] Today and tomorrow - what do we stand for?

Dear player,

We already spoke about DemNL’s achievements in the past, but as some of you quite rightfully pointed out, it is far more important to speak about the present and, even more, the future!

What is DemNL currently doing? And what does our party want for our community in the future?


First, let’s present some statistics about Congress and the Government.

Congress
We currently have a Congress of 39 Members, 11 of whom are from DemNL. The Dutch Congress has its own forum sections (visible to all players), where currently 9 discussions are opened. 8 of these were started by 5 different DemNL Congressmen.

Government
In the 54 months that our party is young, 52 months did the government have at least one DemNL member. That wouldn’t be impressive if it’s just one members every month, which is not the case. Currently, the Government has 13 different members (dictator not included). 5 of them are from DemNL.

In the Foreign Affairs team, we find Willem The Conqueror and Mattio. Willem has been in the FA team for so long that the outside world might start to believe he is permanently appointed.

With the possible upcoming attack from Montenegro, that took a region from our befriended neighbours in the south, we need to have a strong Defense team. But you don’t have to worry about that. The Ministry of Defense has Lancer450, who is very experienced on this matter, and Arcanic Mindje, Willem’s golden wingman from Foreign Affairs.

Konnes, who is very experienced in media, leads the Ministry of Information, getting some help from Willem here as well. (You might get the opinion that Willem is everywhere, and you might be right...)
The two Informationists are so obsessed with knowledge that they are building a website about our Universe (work in progress).


Our name Democratisch Nederland (Democratic Netherlands) gives it away: we are for democracy. But that’s a vague term, what does it mean?

Democracy
It is our vision that everyone has the right to discuss along, to let himself be heard and have a say in where our country is heading.
“Everyone is important, nothing is taboo” is the #1 rule we live by. It doesn’t matter how long you have been playing eRepublik: your voice matters. It might sound like something all parties would say, but to DemNL it is the most important corner stone of politics and it greatly affects the way we work.

Make way for young talent
DemNL is always actively looking for new political talent. For the upcoming Congress Elections, especially new players have been contacted and invited to run for Congress, which lead to a list of candidates that is longer than the two largest other party’s’ lists combined!

No competition, cooperation!
Democracy doesn’t work if there is competition between party’s. It is tempting to say that other party’s are rubbish and your own isn’t, but that’s not our style. We want to cooperate with really anyone as long as they have good plans and a good, democratic way of thinking.
DemNL wants to be the political binding element between every party. We take pride in the fact that many Country Presidents came from DemNL, but it is not our sole purpose to deliver Presidents. We want to support good Presidential Candidates - whether they’re from DemNL or not - and deliver the Ministers and State Secretary’s that could help him.
