[CPF] At Work

Day 2,375, 17:39 Published in Canada Poland by TheSmoke

This one is for Tom Joad,

First off I would like to thank everyone who took the time to fill out the survey! It really helps give a gauge of what people are thinking and feeling in regards to our party, community, country and game. I had a general idea of what the responses would be, but there is certainly some good extra insight into the minds of the moose!

Overall, the number one factor in this game is activity. As we become more active as a community, we increase the dynamics and interactions available to players. The hard part is finding balance between doing work in a browser game and keeping things entertaining. I hope we as a party and community can continue to work together to ensure this game is enjoyable and engaging for all. I hope to do this by putting people to work.

The CPF is looking to build an office for our members. This virtual workplace will have several departments where teams will work together to put out articles, contests, information blips etc. Now you are all saying crazy old Smoke just said it’s hard to get people to do extra work in a browser game, well you got it folks, I just said it. There will be work to be done, but my hopes is that three factors will help ensure that work is done.

First and foremost, paid work. Team members will be paid for the work they do, just like the real world (the sun is so bright! 😑) an assignment, such as putting out a contest or an economic analysis, will be worked on by whichever team members wish. Once completed, expect to be paid $500 - $1000

Secondly is team work. We all know RL things can come up and keep people busy, so it is planned that we share our work through Google Docs. This way one person can chip in here, while another does something else. This will hopefully keep work flowing, minimize large workloads for individuals, and with proper oversight, keep things efficient.

Last is community. Now this is not an immediate benefit, but I do think it has a valuable long term effect. The work that our members do, will hopefully be in a field they enjoy, whether it be writing, contests, economics, warfare analysis etc. My hope is that they will enjoy doing what they are doing, to a degree, but that the more content available to the party will in turn create more activity, involvement, interest and entertainment. The rock rolling down a hill collects more moss, well I don’t think that actually is what happens but the analogy is there!

So it is with my hope that our members will be interested in stepping up to the plate. There are no obligations, no major expectations, orientations or even playstations! If you are interested in helping out, comment and send me a message. This will take a bit of time to perfect, but I do believe it is a sustainable, and beneficial project!

Cheers,

TheSmoke
