[CP] Update - Day 2,223

Day 2,223, 13:02 Published in Switzerland Switzerland by Monsieur Guillontine

Salut madams and monsieurs,

For many months, we have been unable to secure our homeland; for many months, we have suffered from the oppressive Slovenian regime; and for many months, we have been deprived of Switzerland's finest, freshly baked baguettes. But, yes, the tides have turned. Switzerland is once more independent. We are once more free!

For some time now, we successfully liberated all four of our regions: Romandie, Deutschschweiz, Graubunden, and Svizzera italiana. We will have Congress this month. We will be accepting citizenship applications this month. We are collecting taxes. We are making progress!

So some of you might be wondering: how did we suddenly gain freedom? Well, a few factors led to this success. First of all, we have received much needed help from our allies, namely the Canadians, Americans, Croatians, Italians, Dutch, and French. In addition, Croatia has been trampling over our Slovenian oppressors, actually ensuring that they have no Congress. The irony! Lastly, our Italian brothers have also been initiating resistance wars in their Slovenian-occupied regions. Thus, all of these factors combined brought about the creation of a storm so strong that even the Slovenians could not stop.

In other news, our Ministry of Defence is making preparations to assist our long-time friend and neighbor, Austria. Although in the past, and even now, our two nations have usually been on the opposite side when it came to alliance wars, Austria and Switzerland have maintained friendly relations. And now, our friends are asking us to help them by temporarily occupying their regions.

Austria has recently been facing a Serbian political take-over threat, and so they intend to have no Congress this month to ensure that no more unwanted people will be granted illegal citizenship passes. As Austria's friend and neighbor, it is our duty to protect them. We will honorably accept their request for assistance.

That's all for now. We're already half-way through my term, but I'm glad Switzerland is getting back on its feet. We're well on our way to reviving the republic. Hail Switzerland!

Let's fight. Fight for peace.

Yours truly,
Monsieur Guillontine
President of the Swiss Republic
