[CoT] March HQ and Poland-Russia situation

After a great month, we start a new one with changes and interesting situations; people changes and “crisis” that our enemies wish to be relevant.



HQ Changes

We had our traditional initial Summit of the month of March; this time, it was Moldova and NZ turn to propose a SC, and they selected BeJIuKaH(Moldova) and chukcha(New Zealand), respectively. Our MC, Ko3aTa, was reelected, and other positions (aMC, AA, CA and PR) stayed the same.




We lost a member: Switzerland

Switzerland government decided to quit CoT, as there was a successful PTO, and a Resistance has been started there. We hope the best for Swiss people.



Special focus: Poland and Russia

For the second time in a row, there is a conflict between friendly countries, even when none of them is in CoT this time, that makes our enemies call for supposed war between CoT and TWO. Those rumors are obvious wishful thinking from EDEN, unfortunately repeated by too much people until it sounds like truth...

This started when Russia was attacked by Poland. As Russia had very recently moved towards a pro-CoT attitude, signing a few MPPs with CoT members, and has been a traditional friend of some of us; while Poland has been an ally for other CoT members for a while now, this torn people on who should CoT support. Some people expected a very quick resolution from CoT HQ about the issue, and CoT to join the fight one side or the other.



But CoT is not an alliance where important decisions are rushed, not without getting countries input. And naturally the timing (new governments starting), was not right for going too fast.
This is a decision that required analysis and participation of all the Council.

The relevant context:
- Even when Russia has approached CoT members, some of which have been long time friends, they are not a CoT member; not even a trial one. But they also keep MPPs with Asgard and EDEN members, so they are still in a middle ground, without having committed to fight always on the same side as CoT members.
- Poland is and will not be a CoT member, as they are part of TWO. However, TWO have collaborated with CoT very successfully over the last few months, with Poland being part of that effort. So in the same way as Russia, Poland has been close with some CoT members, and not as close with others.
- Poland tried to work a diplomatic approach before attacking Russia
- Some supporters of Russia claimed there was an old agreement in place between Bulgaria, Chile and Russia. While this was a true and signed agreement, we also learned it was already obsolete, as its conditions had not been followed later, some time ago. So there was no compelling reason found for Bulgaria and Chile, CoT members, to take Russia side.

With the existing context, country representatives voted for CoT will stay neutral in this conflict among our two friends. CoT will not encourage or prevent people from any country associated with the alliance to fight for Russia or Poland, as existing friendships dictate for each fighter. However, CoT countries should not forget that they have set prios to follow on an everyday basis; and CoT priorities will not include fighting in Poland - Russia front. CoT countries are free to add priorities consistent with their country military planning, as long as they don’t conflict with Alliance priorities and CoT priorities are not removed from their battle orders.
