The cities are burning, our lost lay where the fates left them, overrun by the minions of the enemy. I look around at the survivors and in truth do not have the words.
For a moment only, I doubt. Is this how we end? After all the battles, defying all the odds for so long we will simply be defeated by an army of clones set on auto bot commands...

There are no tears, we had given it our all. Fought on till the end, so fiercely that the landscape once lush and green is no more than post apocalyptic. We had taken on the armies of the devil himself and there is pride in this.
There is always pride... where the might of Argentina failed so comprehensively our small nation stood against the Chile invaders. We held the line for many days, never surrendering.

Then I see them, at first there is one a man of massive girth and eyes of coldest stone, then two more join him... eAustralians, but more. I know them of course... a time long ago, a past long forgotten. The mighty Mack Craft stands, his eyes looking around at the decimation as one by one those who were once Dropbears move to quietly stand beside their leader. Nationalities forgotten, Military units meaningless.

And there is no defeat in their eyes.
More come from the mist, Seal Team 6, India, Greece, China... so many, mighty warriors who stop and help the wounded to their feet. They place their hand on the shoulders of young, those who have only known defeat and not a word is spoken.
Not a word needs to be spoken.
And now I too stand as I hear it, a distant echo across the landscape of a single yidaki (didgeridoo). A tone that reaches into our soul as the land calls to us. Summons us to arms...
All eyes turn to Mack who nods only once.
We are never alone eAus, and we never surrender.
