Why does the Easter Bunny Hate Ireland?

Day 865, 08:22 Published in Ireland United Kingdom by moomoohead

I Grew up in America in real life but have lived in Ireland for a long time now. Growing up in America we would always dye eggs the night before Easter. When we woke up the next morning we would find a basket full of chocolates and our dyed eggs left by the Easter Bunny. Funny how that same basket was always in our attic the rest of the year. There would be things like yellow marshmallow ducks, Hershey kisses, and peanut butter eggs, all stuff I miss now.
I was surprised when I moved to Ireland to find that the easter bunny does not stop by the houses here ( does make an exceptional stop for my kids). Instead aunts, parents, and grandparents of kids buy them large chocolate covered eggs in a lot of ackaging. There is no egg dying and in fact I have not found any white eggs to even dye properly.
I have a couple of theory’s on why the Easter Bunny blows off Ireland. First Cadburys figured it was more profitable to sell large eggs then to supply the Easter Bunny thus shutting him out of the market. Second, Santa has some kind of exclusivity deal in Ireland that allows him to have a monopoly on the home gift market. Third is the Leprechauns ganged up and roughed the easter bunny up one night after they got out of the Pub. What ever the reason the poor children of Ireland are suffering.
Will leave the question of what happened to the white egg chickens in Ireland to another day.
