Day 2,949, 15:57 Published in Ireland Ireland by Releasethe Krakken

Ever heard of the Million dollar quartet. Imagine you own a small recording studio and on your roster of performing artist is Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins , Johhny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis who all just one day come in and just perform a jam session together and u record it.

Sounds unbelievable . Actually happene😛

With Elvis going to army the young Jerry Lee Lewis was pegged as the new king Of Rock 'n Roll The killer as he was known actually decided to marry a 13th year old his cousin or something. He was aged 22 and that was his third marriage. That ended his career totally when the english press picked it up. For the next couple of years he struggled with his still wed teenage bride. Lewis was actually truly an innovative rock artist and had to peg back to country:

One of his last great rock performances came in the

Jerry lee Lewis - Star Club Hamburg where he gave his last defiant rock performance as the killer before settling down with more laid back songs as a country star.

This is part of the story

Ballad of the 13 year old bride

Finally as one of the fathers of rock 'n 'roll one maybe mistaken to belief that Chuck Berry here with great track Carol was more influenced by blues . that would be wrong it seems his biggest influences was actually Country and that one of his first hits Maybelline was a rework of the Country song Ida Red by the Bob Willis band.

The strange thing is that the Beach Boys did the same thing more or less although( maybelline and ida red is very different from each other)

Sweet Little Sixteen

"Surfin' U.S.A." is a variation of Berry's "Sweet Little Sixteen".[257] Under pressure from Berry's publisher, Wilson's father and manager, Murry Wilson, gave the copyright, including Brian Wilson's lyrics, to Arc Music.[258]

From 1980 Berry up to present continued to play 70 to 100 one-nighters per year in the 1980s, still traveling solo and requiring a local band to back him at each stop.

Finally he was one of the first artist due to his major influence on rock 'n roll music to be included in the rock 'n roll hall of fame in 1986.

Berry is now like Pete Seeger was performing still as a 90 year old musician.
