V2 Feature: Moving Tickets and Distance

Day 938, 19:25 Published in Canada USA by Cavalcanti

In the following days I will release two articles relating my impressions about the V2, and a couple of things I've found during my beta-tester experience. This article is a brief summary about something that is going to change in the V2: Moving Tickets and its implications.

Changes Ahead

Like all the other industries in v2, the moving tickets sector will have its own components, each one providing one benefit when the moving ticket is use😛

The Moving Distance

This is the main point of the article. In V2, there will be certain Zones around the World, and in order to travel to regions that are located in different zones, you'll need tickets with higher moving distance attribute. Basically, the farther the region is, the higher moving distance attribute you'll need.

There are 4 horizontal and 5 vertical lines delimiting 20 different zones in the New World, from A1 to D5:

Here's a few maps showing all erepublik regions and their respectively zones:

Some Thoughts

With the implementation of regional zones, the deployment of mobile troops to distant regions such as China or South America will be a harder task for most of the european countries, as well as it's going to be harder to american countries to deploy its troops into european or asian soil.

The wars tend to become more regional - even in a globalized eWorld where nowadays a polish mercenary group can decide if Thailand is going to invade Malaysia or not, for example - taking in consideration it will be harder to deploy troops to distant regions, and neighbouring countries will concern more about keeping alliances with themselves. Perhaps the Sol alliance will become more functional.

The most affected countries (if there will be any) with this change are those trying to keep distant colonies, such as Poland/Peru. For example, if Brazil attacks Peru without triggering a MPP with Poland, the task of deffending the colony might be much more difficult for Poland. But that's just speculation.

Like many other changes that are going to happen, this will make warfare and military strategy quite more interesting than it is already. I really hope so. 🙂

If you're going to use any map posted in this article, do it, but please give me the proper credits, it took me a while to take screenshots, cut and color all those regions. 😛
