Take the A Train
Hurry, get on board, it's comin'
Listen to those rails a-thrumming
All aboard, get on the "A" train
Soon you will be on Sugar Hill in Harlem

Revisiting the past for nostalgia is one reason why we continue to come back to eRepublik. When DoD orders much like recently were flying left and right. A handful of players staying awake past midnight just to win those last-minute battles. Having an amazing media team pushing several articles every week. Working under Tyler & Melissa Rose’s administrations were the best times of my eCareer.

I’ll never forget it.

I decided to take a hiatus after several months of publishing DoD orders, USAF war analysis, and WHPR blurs. Weeks turned into months, months turned into years and not long after, I had forgotten all about the community I cared deeply for. After a couple of days back, I’m eager to jump right in and perform as If I’ve never left. Truth is, I am nervous of this uncharted territory. I no longer see the values that was once there, when fighting alongside my comrades. I now face a new chapter with friends that are divided amongst themselves for past exertions and achievements unbeknownst to them—that it has shook the very foundation of this eCountry to its current state.

San Diego, California – The Ocean air passes through with a cool electric beat this spring-like evening. As autumn continues about its way and winter creeping behind much like the clouds that begin to shift forming a uniform appearance throughout the sky. Not much has changed in the city. Duke Ellington’s “Take the A train” takes over on the jazz station, Alexa adjusting my volume in the background. My espresso in hand and the door to my windows wide open as a gush of wind rushes through as if following an electric current.

This is my life after eRepublik.

I stare blankly at my desktop, hesitant to fall short of the words in mind, I simply dive in:

My name is Kalos Hoenn. I’m an Environmental Supervisor for a non-profit organization that pushes at-risk youth past their limits. I help develop young and old minds from all backgrounds—France, The Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Mexico, Venezuela just to name a few, a real cultural melting pot!! From learning how to fell a tree, to clearing brush line in fire fuel reduction. Picking away with a pulaski or clearing biomass with a mcleod. Physical demand with mental attacks is a regular for me and my crew.

After leaving eRepublik, I soon found myself wondering what I will do after college, just receiving my bachelor’s in political science with a minor in Psychology and Criminal Justice. I joined the state’s labor force—The California Conservation Corps. Aiding in floods, fire, and hurricane relief efforts all throughout the country under the banner of AmeriCorps as a Liaison with FEMA,US Forestry, Cal Fire, and many other agencies. I’ve tackled many challenges in a span of two years within the corps. Soon after leaving the corps, I joined the county’s workforce as a Park Ranger. I provided courteous, high-quality service to members of the public by personally responding to requests for service or appropriate referrals. Working with 167 acres of land, I honed my skills to perfection and surpassed my colleagues in work proficiency. Not long after, wind of my work surfaced with old colleagues and I soon took a job offer that would allow me to show just who exactly I was.

Present Day:

I am now a man with a vision. I know what I want, and I’ll work for it diligently and decisively. I’ll fight for what i believe is morally right. I’m no longer the kid with aspirations, but a kid at heart. I will work to help reestablish the top-down bureaucracy of negative emotions running rampant among us. To take in all the hatred is something I am willing to put down my time for. I have never thought of eRepublik as a game, but rather a community. I am proud of where I stand, it has been a long journey, and I may have a long way to go, but I’ve achieved further success with each passing day.

TLDR: I’m back eUSA. Look forward to more of my articles in the future, look forward to me asking if you need a helping hand. I’m here to stay. Whether actively or two-clicking in the far reaches of time. If you've read this far, I thank you.

Signing off,

I’ll leave you these words of advice: “Avoiding toxic people to protect your inner peace is not weakness, it’s wisdom” -Dhar
