The Basis of "Our" Decision

Day 1,581, 14:43 Published in USA USA by Blank Keating

As you well know, TERRA Member Nation Chile was recently expelled from the alliance. This move has been largely criticized both around the world, and here in America. In fact two former Presidents offered their strong condemnations on the situation. You can read my previous article here, or Emerick’s article here.

But what wasn’t clear was President Oblige’s intent to oust Chile only to replace them with Argentina. The end goal for President Oblige seems to be the re-admittance of Argentina into TERRA at the cost of the smaller nations. He has even promised military support for Argentina in a direct war with Chile.

Click the images to zoom in. Note that the Clorofila in this picture may be an impostor, but Oblige is still the real McCoy.

Let me be very clear. For our President, to be working with a neutral nation, undermining the very alliance that we helped create, is impeachable. The United States is one of the primary nations of TERRA, and while all members are equal, we have an obligation as one of the founding nations, to uphold the rights of all members regardless of size. And regardless of what a neutral country wants us to do.

Instead of doing the right thing, and defending a TERRA member from Argentinian aggression, our President chose to work against an alliance member, and support a country to whom we owe nothing. Argentina left TERRA on their own initiative, and when they did, any obligation that we had to them left as well.

President Oblige has betrayed not only Chile, but TERRA, and the United States as well.

Any alliance that begins to overwhelm their opposition gets bored and begins looking for ways to screw things up, it’s the nature of the game we all play. What is unacceptable is that our President chose to harm the stability of Terra with his covert actions. Nothing in this game stays a secret for very long, and Oblige should know better than to begin working against our allies to try and aid a country that made the conscious decision to part ways with Terra.

What’s worse is that Oblige seems to be the only person to see things this way. Every other active American player to ever hold a position of leadership in Terra advocated for Chile from the beginning of this dispute, but Oblige knows best and chose to ignore the counsel of people whose experience adds up to years of foreign relations and alliance leadership experience. When Emerick, Pfeiffer, and myself (all of us having spent more time than we might have liked helping or running Terra HQ) all agree...well, this is probably the only time it’s ever happened, which should tell you something.

No amount of articles, or well meaning apologies can put right what has already transpired. We can not tolerate a leader who does not fight for America’s best interests.
