Speculation! Buying & Reselling.

Day 1,226, 01:54 Published in USA USA by Silent Woe

Hello all this is my article on speculation, brokering, or wholesaling, all those names to get on the point eh?

Write now there is currently a bug going around sniping people money incorrectly ie buying RM units at 0.10 might loose you 100 currency, and more so with volume.

so don't jump on buying anything stupid cheap till Erepublik Team fixes whatever it is.

that doesn't mean you can't get into the market.

Alrighty down to the nit and gritty.

when trying to make a profit buying low and selling high via the new Unified Inventory and the Marketplace.

The cheaper the item is obviously better. and RM better so than others

Why?

the smaller the Value the higher Proportional change a 0.01 will do to the value.

why RM?

No VAT

When you try buy and resell Products(food, weapons, tickets, Houses)
you always have to deal with the fact that when you Resell the product you have to account for the VAT that Operates under the price you list.

so if you bought 1000 units of 0.56 q1 food and tried to resell it at 0.57.

you may choose the listed price, but the vat still takes it cut under your listed price. that food would sell yes, but you'd make nothing on it. since a VAT of Just 1% will round up once you hit 0.505

so if you must Speculate in products take in mind you'd have
Your Profit+Listed VAT(under your Price in Storage when selling)+Baseprice=your Final Sales Price

so if you Purchase 0.51 q1food you'd do this
0.01(Profit)+0.01(VAT Value)+0.51(base Price)=0.53 the Sale Price you Enter into your Sales Offer.

With RM you don't have to do that, you only need to purchase something low and resell it by a 0.01 or more since you don't have VAT

Side Recommendation.

BE AWARE!

Know that Prices shift based upon the time of day, What Limited Events are happening, What Regular Event is happening(ex. Congress Elections).

so watch a market and be skeptical till you find the bottom during normal days, and different times of days, and where the price usually flys during regular events.

as for times of day.

I'll give you all some hints on the times of the day i've seen high activity(sometimes the price shifts sometimes it doesn't)

#1 Reset 00:00

#2 Local Wake-Up

#3 Local Primetime.

if you take this advice, build on it, and watch yourself you'll end up with less burns and more boons!

So take care everyone and enjoy!
