Society of United Irishmen: Congress Elections

Day 2,104, 03:12 Published in Ireland Ireland by Brian Boru

So we're in Congress election season again, and given the lack of articles of a party political nature from the United Irishmen of late, I thought I would explain our principles and policies of action in the Dáil. I've tried to adhere to ideas that are in the domain of Congress only.

Support for the Irish Army:
The IA is the soul of our country, and so every United Irishman in congress will vote any proposal to improve that core, and will vote down any proposal that is designed to weaken it as a national institution.

Taxation for Population:
We believe that taxation should be as high as practical, as our country is small and our survival forever hangs in the balance. With that in mind however, our most valuable resource is not gold or IEP, but our people. Therefore, we support an orderly transition to a tax system that supports retention while maintaining a decent level of government revenue.

Responsible Immigration:
The United Irishmen supports responsible immigration policy. We are for attracting applicants from RL Ireland and the RL Irish diaspora. We are against citizenship tourism, and will reject applicants with no real intention of long term activity in eIreland. We are against the entry of RL fascists, ultranationalists, Nazis and Stalinists, on the grounds of damage to our international reputation, national unity and the threat to governmental competency.

Mutual Protection Pacts:
We are in favour of expansion of our alliances so that we can increase our international reputation, as well as have a variety of battles to fight from our own soil. This also aids our deterrence factor against the United Kingdom and others. We prioritise MPPs with countries that have a high degree of enthusiasm for their relationship with us, such as Croatia, Canada and Bosnia.

Those are the main points, and I won't bore you any further.

Please vote for the United Irishmen tomorrow!
