Interview with Socialist Freedom Party President, PilotPhil:

I was working on an article, when I noticed PilotPhil, in uniform, guarding the supplies.
I closed my folder and went out to talk with him.

"@ Phil; what's happening, "I asked.
PilotPhil replied, "getting some exercise and keeping guard on the place."
"What," I insisted, "You are party president, now." "You can't be risking your life to protect some rations," I added.
"I've been in congress, before; I never changed the way I did things," said Phil. "If it makes you feel any better, I'll nominate you as Vice President." Then, you can go hide in the bunker," He added, with a grin.
"I pass on the bunker hiding, too." I said. "When are you going to be available for an interview," I asked.
"I'm available, now," answered Phil.
"Well, I wasn't ready, but lets roll with it, "I said.

After a quick sweep, with the RF, detector, this was the interview that followed:

*GoTJ* How long have you been with the party.

*pilotphil* I have been active since January of last year.
I joined erep in 2009 and was in BC. I never did much, then got an email from Plato and started back up.
Was still in BC and Insane Kaleb suggested I join SFP, been here since

*GoTJ* What has kept you around?

*pilotphil* At first it was just a good time waster. as a RL pilot I have a lot of down time, sitting around airports and hotels. As I got to know some of the party members they became friends and it got fun.
This game is really pretty slow when you first start out. To make it fun you have to get involved.
Everyone at SFP was very welcoming and I got tons of good advice and help from the veterans.

*GoTJ* Do you have a favorite game module?

*pilotphil* Fighting is fun when I do it, but for quite a while I was trying to avoid leaving D1, and now I am really trying to save experience and stay in D2 for a long while
My favorite module is probably the media. I don't get a chance to write as often as I should and some of my efforts are better than others for sure.
Sometimes it flows, especially when I really have something to rant about

*GoTJ* Nice!

*pilotphil* I would enjoy the economic module more if the economy wasn't so broken but I pretty much is, so that is kind of a maintenance thing for me.

*GoTJ* What are your top 3 favored allies, for now.

*pilotphil* wow, though one

*GoTJ* Take your time.

*pilotphil* I suppose it would be those that I have most recently helped.
In no particular order along with many IDA soldiers and friends we kicked a hostile dictator out of Switzerland. BC had a good showing there. Along with a good number of BC troopers we also were able to kick a dictator out of Australia so that one was fun.
I also joined the Royal Navy and fought pretty hard in a losing effort in the UK, so those would probably be my top three at the moment...

*GoTJ* Who are the top 3 Natural enemies?

*pilotphil* Serbia is always a handy enemy. Hostile dictators aren't really a natural enemy in game mechanics, but that would be my number one. Mostly, I just hate the dictatorship thing, it is really ripping apart many communities. I understand the self-installed dictators, but I still don't like it.

*GoTJ* Where do you see the party, in five years and what tools do we have to get to that point? Last question; I promise.

*pilotphil* Hopefully eRep is still here in five years, and if it is, I see us eventually breaking into the top five.
We have a really good group of active, core citizens that appreciate SFP for what it stands for
We allow everyone a voice whether you are part of the "old guard" or whether you are a complete noob.
Some of the party leadership in the other parties tends to treat new folks differently, and I am not so sure they are as welcoming as we are. Everyone gets input into what the SFP is doing and that makes everyone feel included.
We can recruit all day, but if members get bored or frustrated they won't stick around. So many of us have a bit of extra cash/supplies/knowledge that we really need to share it with the newer folks. In addition, at SFP and BC we have a bit of a mission, a reason to exist if you will. We pride ourselves on freedom fighting and helping others maintain/gain their freedom.

*GoTJ* Thanks

*pilotphil* No prob, thanks in advance for what will be an amazing piece of journalism!

I'm happy to report that the treasury has made the quota.
