Sinon-News: The Mass-Deletion and Misunderstandings

Day 2,537, 11:26 Published in Japan Japan by Sinon

Hello everyone and welcome to the first article by Sinon-News!

Many may ask who I am, so let me just say that I won't tell you, and you have to guess without looking at my former articles. Also, please don't let others know in the comments-section, as it would destroy all the fun 😛

Rebellion 2014
Now, the reason why I write this article to you is because I feel it is necessary to discuss the recent rebellion and share the moderators story as well. Like many others I was tired of all the problems that occured and I myself joined the rebellion when I got information that suggested the moderators didn't give a sh*t about us players... after having discussed this with one of the moderators I feel ashamed for blindly believing that information.
Mistakes and misunderstandings
What I believe is that a series of bad decisions and actions have made the whole thing into a massive misunderstanding between the moderators and the players, which I am now hoping to correct.

First of all let me tell you all something really important: In the original article that many (me included) released through our newspapers, there were some pictures from a skype-conversation. Personally I never paid much attention to these, but it turns out the screenshots were taken by a hacker that had hacked one of the moderators skype account and taken parts of the conversations were taken out of context. This is considered a criminal act in RL and I personally will never support such actions! Anyway, these pictures were one of two reasons for the mass-deletion of articles and the reason why many received "flaming" as the reason behind the warning and deletion of their article.

The second reason for the mass-deletion was that releasing identical articles from several accounts/newspapers is considered as spam and thus violate the laws regarding spamming.

A false rumor
There was a rumor that a script was made to automatically delete articles and comments mentioning the rebellion, but this is not true, as in that case I should have received 3 warnings, while I only received 2. From this I know for sure that the rumor is not true.

Finally I also received confirmation that rebellions in general are supported/welcomed by the moderators, as long as they are reasonable and don't break the laws like what happened during the tournament.

So if you wish to rebel against Plato, make sure to do the following:
1. Read the eRepublik-laws
2. Write your own original article and refer to others instead of copying theirs (this prevents you from breaking the spam-law)
3. Avoid pictures and information you are unsure of the source. Instead make your own pictures and gather information from reliable/trusted sources
4. Make sure you write in a formal/polite way to avoid braking the flaming-law

That's all I had for you and I wish you all a happy halloween!
