Here I will list some ships in history with the name of Nemesis. This is addendum to my article Nemesis.


HMS Nemesis (1780) was a British vessel, ordered at 30 September 1777, built by Jolly, Leathers & Barton, Liverpool, launched at 23 January 1780, completed after launch by John Smallshaw & Co after business failure of Jolly & Co., at 22 June 1780 (at Plymouth Dockyard), captured on 9 December 1795 by France, when having the name Némésis, recaptured on 9 March 1796 by Great Britain, sold 9 June 1814.

HMS Nemesis (1826) was a 46-gun fifth rate launched in 1826 and broken up by 1866.

HMS Nemesis (1910) was an Acorn-class destroyer launched in 1910. She was lent to the Imperial Japanese Navy in 1917, being renamed Kanran. She was returned in 1919 and was sold in 1921.

Nemesis (1839), an iron paddle frigate, owned by Honorable East India Company, built by Birkenhead Iron Works, was the first British ocean-going iron warship. Launched in 1839 she was used to great effect in the First Opium War under Captain William Hutcheon Hall. The Chinese referred to her as the "devil ship".

USS Nemesis (1869), better known as USS Napa, was a Casco class twin-screw light draft monitor built during the American Civil War for operation in the shallow inland waters of the Confederacy, launched at 26 November 1864, broken down in 1875.

OPV Nemesis (200😎 is an Offshore Patrol Vessel of the New South Wales Police Force. It was acquired in 2008 to replace two older 22-metre vessels. It is designed to support a range of police operations up to 200 nautical miles (370 km; 230 mi) out to sea, including detecting illegal immigration, smuggling and drug trafficking and supporting counter terrorism and search and rescue. It has been built by Tenix Defence/BAE Systems Australia, Fremantle, Western Australia and it is operated by New South Wales Police Force.
