G'day again
There hasn't been enough beer in one brewery to get me through the last 2 or so days with the cloak and dagger going on so this is the only play I have left.
Before I get trolled, allow me to explain the situation I'm in. I'm not looking for blame of any sort, but it has to be handled and dealt with. I can't be in the middle on this anymore.
The deal.
The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs has announced in a public media article that a deal has been arranged with the Government of Finland in the form of a rental agreement. Some of our members have raised public concerns not only about what's on the table, but also about the lack of information presented.
Members of the Government have publicly responded that KnightHawk leaders were informed about the package. To date, our reps in Congress, our party and the KnightHawk Military Unit have either denied being informed, or in the least possible sense, denied being told the full story.
It has come to light that LanyIsLost, one of our two parliamentarians, has been privy to the deal not as a result of being a KHMC member, but as a Command member of her own military unit with ronnyjnrjnr. Ronny has now confirmed this.
AwesomeSal, our other rep in Congress, has denied receiving anything due to a Government refusal by Infowar. Turns out that Infowar makes it a pre-condition to add Congress members to his eRep friends list before sending them information. It's wrong, but that's his choice and no one is going to stand up and do anything about it, making any commonsense solution dead in the water.
Position
A few things haven't been quite right and a play on words has been key to selling who's right and wrong.
The bottom line is KHMC, as a party, have been completely in the dark on Finland, despite being the number 3 party in this country. The Government is sailing the country into a major geographical change of border security, including the added risk of illegal immigrants more easily jumping citizenship through the northern hemisphere of the game.
I have written to the Australian President requesting a detailed information package, also noting there's every chance I'll be denied.
Adding to the problem is our Military Commander Henry the 8th having a broken inbox and not doing much about putting things in place to delegate an active Command member to represent him in the life of the party.
Speaking of that, it's become known to me that the KH MU wish to continue operating out of sight, out of mind of the party, when there are political matters involved. If this was purely a military position with no policy angle at all, it wouldn't even be a big deal. At times like this, these relationships are crucial and there's no room for going off the reserve.
Where to?
The Government can withhold anything they wish, from anyone at any time. It doesn't make it right, it just makes it legal. Parties are political processes that should be consulted. Who knows what would have happened? With a bit of respect we could have had a chin wag and dealt with this like men, but now it's gone beyond that when I can't do my job and represent the concerns of my members.
Dr Hugh wrote an article, arguably tongue-in-cheek, but he is right. Summarising it, it's on a need to know basis. Dr Hugh knows I respect him and I'm proud to call him a mate, but as mates we're allowed to disagree. I can't support how the Infowar Government has gone about this.
How much is this rental deal going to cost the country? Reports to members last term indicated our finances are being expended at a greater rate than they're being made. Big concerns there.
How long is the deal for? Tag on that, logging in this morning I notice that Finland is trying to take Lapland back. I realise anyone can launch these bids in an active war but if Finland doesn't have the respect of its citizens to prevent rogue militias, how can Australians be sure the deal itself is secure from overpowering? KHMC Congress Member AwesomeSal laid out how little we make compared to the "friends" we have in the Finland, Sweden and Norway Alliance.
On that very point, with nothing to hold them to it by legal or game control standards, what will prevent a future Government of Finland from tearing it up?
This rent deal could be only until Congress and it could only cost a couple of tanks. If we're getting no information...... Get the point?
Action
It's been made clear to me that members want to be represented on it. Our Members of Congress have been put into a compromised position and the Party Presidents who aren't an MC or Cabinet Member are being kept out of the loop. We need a standard bearer and what we have isn't cutting it. I'm now wiping my hands of being in the middle, hit by Government and KHMC Member alike.
The only logical step left is for me, as President of the KHMC, to declare the opening of nominations and to pre-select a Candidate for Country President.

Can I just say, it's not that Infowar makes people add him, it's that you have to be on someones friends list to be included in a mass PM with others. That's game mechanics, not Infowar.
I had the same issue with Lany in my term. She refused to accept my friends request, therefore I could not add her to the PM. Simple as that. Don't make out like it's any one elses fault bar "Awesome" Sal's.
Parties are not privvy to any information. At all. In the slightest. Until the entire public is informed. That's how it is. That's how it is in every country. This is why you have a cabinet and senate.
You aren't being kept out of the loop. Lany knows everything, if she doesn't share that's her problem, and I already explained Sal. Stop making out like this is some whole anti-Knighthawk propaganda BS. ADP members don't get informed of confidential government business either, you don't see them moaning about it. Jeez.
Oh and can I also point out that really, Lany shouldn't be sharing ANYTHING with ANYONE outside of senate, because certain things need to be kept quiet. Once they are made public, go nuts, talk as much about them as you want, but until things are made public they should not be getting discussed at all.

For the most part, the entire country is kept out of the loop because some things cannot be made public or be discussed until certain times. It is the same in every country. Mate, look AwesomeSal refused the invitation to join the senate PM which includes ALL senators by not accepting his friends request. Now you can not include people in a mass PM that aren't on your friends list. that is the game mechanics. AwesomeSal chose that, info tried to exclude her but she decided to put a petty argument over the KH's and the countries interests. Info rose above that and tried to include her so in that case she is in the wrong not infowar. She was given 2-3 days to accept.
As for lany, Lany was a 2nd Commander so got an invite to the Military Command CP...as did ALL Commanders and 2nd Commanders of major MU's. You can play the conspiracy route if you wish and your members can continue to claim that the Government are supplying members of other political parties and there is an old boy brigade. That's up to you guys but it's a shame that things have dragged that far into the gutter to be honest. I know people in KH will say they are not getting info...guess what? Government articles have always never been produced regularly unless it was mainly either myself or Claire doing them because that is our perffered form of communication to people instead of IRC and forums.
Now the old senate system was if AwesomeSal didn't sign up to the forums she would get nothing...no info on senate. Zilch. nada. Zero. She refuses to accept an invite to join the new system she gets the same. You should be looking at why your elected representative has locked herself off from taking part and not why the CP should have to go through hoops for ONE and only one elected senator who is being petty.

Instead of trying to liberate core regions which, as we proved last month, without an entire alliance and more behind us is impossible, you should be actively fighting in the battles we're asking you to, you know, the ones that will guarantee us a congress?! Maybe? Do you think? No? No. Course not.
TakeYo, the government, in my point of view, has done a pretty ok job in getting us a couple of regions so there can be elections next term. I'm definitely not a "big hitter," I barely can afford to do the minimum for the DO, however that's not the point. It seems to me that your just here to make a fuss to be honest. What the Knight Hawks do behind closed doors is no one's business bar their own, and so its the same thing with the government.

Nathan is a good guy but let's face facts he's too close to Hugh Jardon to be an effective KHMC leader. The ADP junket has been attacking KH non stop and what does Nathan do? He says nothing but good things about the people attacking him and us. How does that work? Since DodgyHagrid won the presidency of the APP relations with them have been good but the Democrats still won't let up playing us vs them.

Maybe a bit more respect, a bit more courtesy, a bit more political awareness is needed here.
Please do correct me if I'm wrong but it was my understanding that Sal was invited to the group PM (which you have to be friends to include people in) and that Sal refused the friend request. If she accepted and got added to the PM would this clear up the "transparency issue"?

Extra work for Infowars certainly, but that is part & parcle of the CP job - to ensure as far as possible, that as much of the community is involved - in fact he more or less said this in his bid for CP.
So we all can go on & on & talk about what is legal or we can look at what is right.

People didn't want to be active on the last forums, so new ones where made where it is not compulsory to be on them for senate issues, so an in-game pm was made so senators can get the info without going out of their way and because they wont accept a friendship request to be part of the mass pm the government gets blamed.

We've already pointed out to you - if you aren't on the friends list, you can't be added to the PM. If you can't make a step forward and compromise, why should anybody do that with you?
