Its Turkey Time

Day 691, 10:34 Published in Canada Canada by Fred_the_deadhead

Thanksgiving is tomorrow.

Well, Canadian Thanksgiving anyways. I guess we are more thankful, and show it more, than those damn Yankees (I say this sarcasticly and with a smile, I have no qualms with our Southern friends) who celebrate Thanksgiving and run right into Christmas.

Thanksgiving, the time to give thanks. For freedom, for life, for happiness. We give thanks for all the people who helped give us these things; thanks to all those who heped build our society.

Enter eRepublik.

This social game is fantastic in its own way. It has brought so many people from across the globe together all striving for the same goal- to help create the best society online. No one gets hurt, no one dies. Ah, the virtual world!

I suppose we could take the time to compare and contrast real vs virtual wars. Suffice to say, no one on here, supposedly, holds grudges or hates anyone else on here. Supposedly.

I have to wonder if there will be no battles to fight tomorrow? I am guessing there will be; time changes and other countries and training wars should allow for those who wish to battle the chance to hone their skills.
At any rate, I am thankful that I get that privelege.

I am thankful that I have running water, that I have a roof- and the ability to pay for that roof, that I have food in my belly, that I have an education, that my kids have an education, that I am free.

I am thankful for the things I take for granted. I am thankful for the inconviences. I am thankful I have the ability to be frightened by stupid little things (like heights, spiders, and whatever else little phobia exists).

I am thankful that I have choice, that I can have ideas, that I am able to walk.

Most of all, I am thankful that George Orwell was wrong- so far- and that, sorry to say, I don't live in a poor country.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
