It was a dark and stormy night.

Day 2,223, 07:22 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Gego Gugula

I am new, have had some time to watch the UK, and learnt a few things.

When I joined I got caught up in the early missions before I properly explored everything. I came in, fought, and read some articles between energy recharges. Then I chanced upon a strategy article for new players which advised me to concentrate on building my strength. My participation was reduced to clicking work and train and reading articles.

I have heard about the forums but am a little uncomfortable going there just yet. Call it past experiences in other games, but my reluctance is strong for now. It is less about the people and more about how sucked in I become. 5 minutes becomes 5 hours before I know it. Then Plato introduced the Power Spin. Woe to my addictive personality! Perhaps it is all too late already and I should just join.

Anyway, I have moved between military units. I initially joined to be part of the shoutboxes so that I could fit in and understand what was going on. I hoped to have a home once I started fighting again. The first MU kicked me out because I looked inactive after my initial burst. The second kicked me out because I joined a new political party. This strength training strategy is tough on your military social life.

As I mentioned, I have been reading the media. I even made an odd comment or two. It was a relief not being flamed, but responding to what others say isn't the best vehicle for communication. Along came the New Era Writer Initiative. It sounded good and encouraging, but I had one small problem: no newspaper! All my Gold has been poured into upgrading my training grounds and hte little I have left is there for my next big milestone Quality 4 Weights Room. It makes me think I will end up going from this:

to this:

Let's hope not!

Anyway, the generous Super Llama heard my predicament and helped me find a voice. Thank you. I think Writer Initiative is a wonderful idea and hope it bring other new people into the national discourse. The more the merrier.
