Idea Proposal: Trade Unions

Day 1,971, 12:35 Published in United Kingdom Norway by Major Lee Hung

This is an idea I've had for some time, but have never got around to proposing it and hearing other people's views. My idea is to set up what will essentially be an additional layer of role-play.

Trade Unions: How will it Work in eRep?

-Members join for a small monthly fee (not decided, may go with making it free and sourcing donations to fund things)
-The trade union will become involved with all matters relating to citizen employment, trade and even basic needs of lower level citizens.
-The idea is to encourage multiple unions who are politically affiliated to push for the change that best suits their members.
-Congressmen who are also union members will be lobbied for reform.

What Change Might a Union Push For?

This isn't an exhaustive list of what a union should represent, just some ideas of what a specific union may choose to push for in terms of politics.

-Lower/higher rate of tax
-Social/welfare programs
-Minimum wage changes
-Encouraging higher/lower wages for eUK citizens
-Privatising public services, or vice versa

Benefits for Members

Again, this is just a list of potential ideas.

-Guidance for lower level members
-Financial support to help members become more self-sufficient
-Insuring members against fluctuating food/WRM/FRM/weapon costs
-Maintaining 'blacklist' of poor employers
-Loaning money to members in need
-Affiliating with the eNHS to ensure a sufficient food stockpile is in place

So there it is! I'm looking for feedback on this idea, and I'm sure the main beneficiaries will be lower-level people or those who may not be fully self-sufficient.

This is basically an alternative to current political parties. Pushing for change and benefiting the population of the eUK without necessarily having to leave your party to do so.
