Elections - A opportunity for opinions and choice ...?

Day 2,629, 10:54 Published in Norway Norway by Jan Steinhard

Elections- a important part of todays democracy. A time where peple that even work as cashiers or make a living at being a rich mans servant, still have a voice and oppinions. In erepublik¨, there is no difference. As the main election is closing in, people are raising an eyebrow for who to vote. What do people want to vote for and who might lead the country to the future? Will small parties ever lead the country or will they be "supporters" of the main house parties? Are all parties 100% true or is there corruption and power issues everywhere? All these questions and more, get important for every day, as the elections are right around the corner.

Generally, you vote for the party you support or if your neutral, give in to someone bothering you about it. In my opinion, thats wrong. Even if people are in a party they have the ability to vote for someone else if they think their ideas are better and that your own party does not have much to offer.

Example:

A person is a member of Tek and has been a proud member for a long time. He likes the party`s idea and supports it 100%.Recently, he has not approved to the many things that they talk about and feels that its not good politics happening/ gonna happen, this month. He notices that NGP has some good things that they are saying and feels that they really have something good going on. Therefore he should be able to vote for them and not be ashamed right?

This is where it gets complicated. Some people may feel that they can get punished for saying what they want and are scared of telling the truth about a party`s actions and what they talk about. Even voting for another party may be something bad in their eyes and are scared of voting at all.

This is a mentallity that only comes to one`s mind when they notice that their party really has some shady things going on. Once a member notices that they are corrupt orthey are doing bad things, it adds on the layer of pressure and makes him a "scared, but loyal" member. Yes, you get your votes. Yes, you win the election. But at what price? He really wanted to vote for someone else but because of all he knows, is scared. Is that the price you would take to ensure a victory?

Remember; democracy is a right and therefore, you should be able to vote for anybody you want to, no matter what. Say what you wanna say! Make the choice and be a part of Norway. No matter what you chose or what you say, you are contributing to the country.
