Congratulations Vanek26! [Fed endo]

Day 1,931, 08:03 Published in USA USA by fingerguns

While you didn't win the Fed Primary (14-39), we are glad to support you as the eUS Unity candidate!

V for Victory? Oh no. V IS Victory.

You took the time to go through 5 pages of tough questions from our party members and you answered them all seriously. This is a very nice change from past elections when we had to deal with endless deflections from dismissive candidates who didn't think our endorsement was worth the effort. You treated our party with respect and even though it was obvious our endorsement was a long shot, you tried to earn it anyway. That is noteworthy and definitely something we should want in a President.

Congratulations and best of luck to you!

Now, the reasons why you didn't win our endorsement outright (fwiw):

1. Very few new players in your cabinet. - understandable. You're not a party player so you may have very few opportunities to meet and work with younger people in this game. Still, we hope you give them a chance in some capacity and don't disregard the next generation of players. The oldfag weariness is palpable.

2. You're not a party player. - I hope that in coming to our forum and answering our questions, you have a bit of insight now into how the Federalist Party operates and why we think parties, in general, are so important to this game. When players don't really care about the party structure or party politics, what they're saying is there are huge chunks of this game (whole communities not to mention mechanical aspects) they simply aren't interested in. When you JUST work at that top level, it's easy to adopt that elitist mentality and 'the people' are more of a nuisance to be controlled than perspectives to consider or represent. You showed us a great amount of respect by coming to our forums. We hope that communication becomes common practice.

3. You've been around forever but you're not a very public figure. - The positive side of this is you're not a glory whore. You do the work without the medals or the credit. The negative side of this relates to the first and second points. The only people who really know you are older players who hang around that top level. The average person doesn't know what bad things from past Administrations you were responsible for, or what good things you were responsible for. Your name isn't really on any of it, but we know you've worked for every Administration for like a year now. It's a gamble. Your opponent was also a gamble, but because he's a public figure there is at least some sense that he will respond to public criticisms and questions. He'll care if we're mad. Will you? We hope so.

4. Disconnection from ATO. - Some of the comments you've made about the ATO efforts of the last couple months combined with your distaste for parties left many in our party thinking that you will have to essentially start from scratch when it comes to fighting this PTO. You simply aren't aware of and haven't been involved in anything up to this point so you won't know how to build on past progress. The Federalists take ATO very seriously and a couple of our members have become leaders in the ATO efforts, including your opponent, Jefferson Locke. It is our hope that you don't feel the need to reinvent the wheel when things have actually been going really well. Our party is at your service.

That's about it. If there were a #5 it would simply be that you're not a Federalist. Of course that plays its part, but it may not have been as significant a factor as you might think. Again, we appreciate you taking the time to campaign to the home party of your opponent. That says a lot about you, I think, which is why we are not only comfortable with giving you our party endorsement, but glad to do it. Best of luck in your Administration. The Feds are behind you!
