I see our two large neighbours have signed an NAP (Non Aggression Pact).
I might be jumping to conclusions but I believe this could be very interesting for us. Large countries, such as Chile, are always looking to expand. It’s the natural response to great national strength. I don’t blame them. Why would you sit quietly in your own borders with all that strength just waiting to be released. The Governments of these bigger countries are always under immense pressure to gather resources, and rightly so, it’s a game, you should be out there playing it if you can.
Now if Chile can no longer go east, due to this NAP, then it makes sense that they’ll look west. Now this doesn’t necessarily mean us. But in my opinion it could mean Australia. Now this is where it gets tricky. We’re stuck in the middle.
The fact that we are no longer aligned with Chile, and Australia’s recent shift to TWO, makes things even more ugly looking for us. In theory, if we are approached by Chile to let them through to Australia, we’re supposed to say no. This could be viewed by some as a very short sighted policy. Australia and us combined still wouldn't stand a chance against Chile so I would suggest that if these circumstances were to occur, for lack of a better term, our resistance would be futile. Really, really futile :/ Unless TWO put it's two cents in. Or unless the threat of TWO support is enough to stop Chile deciding to try expanding this way at all.
The issue is complicated even more by the fact that Chile has been our greatest regional ally down here. Before they babyboomed we formed a strong relationship fighting for freedom together and then after their babyboom they helped us a lot by blocking us from aggressors. Personally I see official alliances as fickle creatures. A strong, friendly neighbour is an invaluable asset. But on the other hand I really feel sorry for Australia. They have had a terrible time in eRep with Indonesia and the last thing they need is Chile joining against them too. I find myself very divided in my loyalties. I guess I'll just be crossing my fingers & hope none of this eventuates or the NAP fails lol.

New Zealand knew very well what they are doing when they switched sides and joined TWO. I think I even warned about this exact situation in an article few months ago when I still had NZ citizenship and hostilities began to take place.
If war happens (and I don't think it will at this point) it won't be a surprise.
It would be sad if it came to that. NZ & Chile stood together for a long time.
But it is just a game & I would understand. I will try and just shoot u in the leg my frien😛D

I don't think there is any of us fighting for Argentina, that's probably the only country I never fight for.

Your questions are very certain. No well that what you plan to Chile will, I trust our President, MoFA, MoD etc .... are at it, through dialogue, more than anything to be vigilant and plan how to make our move. This game is so, who is your allied today, tomorrow may be your enemy 😉
Yes, that's what I think. Alliances come & go but Chile & NZ will always be neighbours, so we should remember that🙂

Well, do not start talking about betrayals because they are very sensitive issues, depending on the side you look at each will have their views.
As Crusadercal said, this is a game, and the personal pressures and Alliances play a very important role. -

We knew eventually something like this was bound to eventuate after we left CoT. But honestly that alliance was turning into a complete joke (as far as policy and command are concerned,) so it had to be done.
Hopefully the political figures in Chile have a long enough history in regional relations to not want us gone.
