Breaching the Walls, Revealing the Truth: The September Government 2018

After I saw The Eye of Tomorrow making a comeback, I couldn't stay behind. And how better to start writing articles again than to concentrate on the past really interesting CP elections. If you know how I write my articles from the past, I like to go deep into detail and try to critize things or encourage debate. It has been a long time since I last played erepublik, so I will go back to my first series and continue from there. My Breaching the Walls, Revealing the Truth series was about my first experiences of this game. It was full of ambition and hope for the game and the community. A reflection on what I think of it right now is maybe for another time. For now I would like to concentrate a bit more on the government we will have this month.

The elections

Every time we have CP elections, I'm dissapointed in this game afterwards. That's because it is not very clear who won. You have to wait a day before the results are confirmed and to look for them you have to select the right type of elections instead of seeing the most important results at once. That is why I decided to write this article. I want to inform the people of the eNetherlands about our new government and about the election results in a simple way.

It is good to keep in mind that I'm a noobie again. I wasn't here for the last two years, so please don't blame me for interpreting things wrong. I will do the same I did when I started playing: seeing and writing things from my own perspective. I think the elections were really special this time. We saw a lot of articles before the elections. Multiple articles from both candidates about their own candidature, and even the aforementioned The Eye of Tomorrow published the famous CP candidates interview, which gave the CP elections a boost in my opinion. The candidates proposed both new ideas to try to win the voting, and although the programmes were on some points very similar, there was something to choose this month.

Not only the race before the elections was interesting to follow, the voting itself was very exciting as well. I can't remember the last time I saw a close race like this. An exciting race like this promises a good month. The opposition will be sharper to critize the government if they make a mistake. Hopefully we can continue this trend to other months to come.

49 votes were cast in total, 24 for the Iron & Wine candidate odan and 25 for newcomer to the CP elections MDSanderon for Revolution et Libertas.

The team

Now it's time to dive a little bit deeper into the team for this month. This will be more interesting because we have a CP who wasn't CP before. A strong team is usually needed to support the President.

Country President and Minister of Home Affairs: MDSanderon

We say MDSanderon is a newcomer, but this isn't of course really the case. It is more than 5 years ago since he joined the game, and he was 31 times congress member. It is interesting to see the combinations made in this government. MDSanderon has chosen to give people more positions than usual (again from what I'm used to). This we already see with his own position, which is aside from Country President also the Ministry of Home Affairs. Important to note: This will be the first time MDSanderon will be part of the government. I'm really excited to see what he will accomplish and how things will go. To support him in this, you need a strong team, and he made sure of that.

Vice President and Minister of Finance: NoTie112

If I have to introduce Tonie, than you are a newcomer to this game/country or you are disconnected from society. Tonie has been 12 times CP and is and always (read the fine print of this newspaper title) has been one of the most important pillars of the eNetherlands. Nothing will be new for him, and there won't be anything he can't handle as far as I have seen (although I think odan thinks different about this, unless he changed which I don't think is very likely). I would like to point out that Tonie is the record holder for the CP position with twelve. He passed the illustrious van Spijck, better known nowadays as M. de Ruyter (10 times CP of eNL) in february of this year. Tonie also has some experience as dictator, but that doesn't sound very positive 😛

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Defence: Janty F

Janty F is relatively new to the eNetherlands and one we desperately need and are very happy with as far as I have seen. For Janty F politics is nothing new. He was 6 times CP (in Cuba and the Czech Republic) and has also been dictator for some time. Janty F is internationally oriented and has experience in the alliance of Orion. Since june he is the Alliance leader of Orion. I couldn't think of a better person for this job right now. Although the MoD and MoFA positions are combined, I don't think this will be a problem for Janty, as he has shown last month where he also combined these ministries.

Minister of Education: Gwom

Gwom is not only the Minister of Education, I think he is also Mister Education. Gwom has almost been more times MoE than he was congress member (More than 30 times!). When I was here for a few days last year, Gwom was Minister of Education. When I was here 2 years ago, Gwom was Minister of Education. When I was CP myself, 3 years ago, Gwom was Minister of Coaching. He is very reliable in what he does, and a great addition to any government. Especially when the CP needs good and strong people around him, Gwom is someone to build upon.

Advisors: Shawtyl0w and Willem The Conqueror


Shawty can say he is no political offical anymore, but it is hard to quit this module when you are invested in it. Shawty is the commander of the Dutch Armed Forces and seven times CP. Willem The Conqueror was three times Country President and will be the law book advisor for this month. The law book will be revised and Willem will be working on this. I haven't access to all information about this since I'm no congress member and haven't been for a very long time, so I can't really comment more on this. Both advisors are seasoned government members and I'm sure they are very capable of supporting this month's Country President.

I'm looking forward to this month and what the government will do to make this country a little better again. I feel like I'm new again and my hope for this game and this country is ignited again. I hope this government is able to keep my flame burning, and that of so many others.
