Bamber for CP

I would like to announce my intention to run for CP this month on behalf of the People's Unity Party. Hopefully most of you know me from the last CP campaign I ran a few months ago. In this article I will provide a brief overview of my plans for the month ahead.
As most of you will remember I outlined several my concerns about the future of the eUK, such as the dwindling community. The government should be actively supporting activity and engagement for the community.
MoEd/ MoHA
This month I will be combining the work of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Home Affairs. The MoEd has a plan in place which will rejuvenate our lack of educational articles. It is becoming increasingly clear that new/returning players are struggling to make sense of the new version of erep and this MoEd plan will look to put this new erep in a context that is easy for new players to digest.
Moving on to MoHa-specific issues, we should be providing financial incentives to those who are contributing to the media section of our country, we will provide a weekly prize for the best article. We will be paying a specific sum of money to each party that includes a competition in it's articles, this money will be used to pay for the rewards, each party will get one sum of money per prize fund once every 3 days. This will allow us to reward those of you who are active and engaging with the community and hopefully mean more people will start to do the same. Activity in the eUK will be promoted by the government by two competitions every week, all with rewards.
As it is December which is often a quieter time of the year, I want to make December a fun time for the eUK. Let us see a return to the vibrant community the eUK once had.
Defence/Foreign Affairs
The MoD should be providing our citizens with battle orders and supplies. I will have a MoD team which is active and visible by providing battle orders in the media and providing call to arms. We must keep in contact and have regular communication with our allies. I would like to maintain our strong relations with our allies.
This month I would like to appeal to all political parties to work with me and to put the division and infighting aside.
If you would like to be involved in my cabinet, whether you want to run a competition, work with our allies, help the ministry of defence with war efforts, write articles and round ups there is a place for you Apply here

voted & good luck 🙂
would u support join people from other contries? what ur position about that?
The eUK has been cagey about taking in people from other countries for some time now, due to a history of PTOs and MTOs. I think it's time to rethink how tightly we control immigration - but then too, it's not like there's a flood of people trying to join us, and if there were, that in itself would raise suspicions!
We have no controls on citizenship. People are free to use passes as they like.
A forig PTO might dash away the inactivity, it's not like the old days when we actually had stuff to lose. eUK is rock bottom at the moment, so a PTO lead by active players might actually be a good thing.
For some reason Wayne's comment reminded me of the story of a two seater light aircraft that crashed into a graveyard in Southern Ireland. A police spokesman reported that, 'So far we have recovered 397 bodies'.
Horice 🛩
LMAO!
I wonder if you'll sell out the country for more power as well.
What are 'returning' players struggling to understand? I returned last year from a two year absence and the only thing I can tell that is new, are Air Battles. We don't get new players anymore. We proved that a few weeks ago. Guess we'll have to prove it again... http://prntscr.com/hhcd00 While it's noble to 'help the new guy', ultimately its a waste of energy in this current day and age. Most new guys are eDead before anybody even knows they are even here. In my opinion Government shouldn't be wasting it's time and energy chasing 'new players', that responsibility should be on every player currently playing. Notice a new guy, send him a message, offer advice and help, parties should be leading the way on this, not Governments.
We already have a way to reward players in the media: http://prntscr.com/hhcl10 How about you start using it? Pretty sure Woldy already has a Media reward thing, 'Young Writers Program' or something. Very low uptake nowadays. The reason being, there really isn't a great deal to write about. People don't write because they require an incentive, they don't write because they have no topics and they feel like it's a waste of time because they have no audience. Apparently, we have 500+ players, yet a good article is consider 15ish votes and double digit comments that aren't just 'v'... If you want to incentivise people writing, how about voting, endorsing and commenting on articles, to at least give the illusion someone is paying attention. That would go a longer way to improving the media, then a couple of thousand cc.
As for your part on MoD/FA, you might as well have wrote nothing...
"In my opinion Government shouldn't be wasting it's time and energy chasing 'new players', that responsibility should be on every player currently playing."
That's all nice Wayne but the fact of the matter that probably isn't happening, and like you said with the amount of new players being eDead so quickly the government should try to take some sort of action than turning a blind eye and waiting for the community to completely die.
Sadly Woldy's program I have never heard of, so I can see why the uptake is very low.
If it isn't happening, then it's not the fault of the Government, but the fault of the community and the culture in parties nowadays. Many eyes are better then a few. By claiming it as the Governments domain, you are enabling people to be lazy and not take responsibility. Encourage the culture in your party to change. Even simple acts such as visiting the player page, adding those that you are not already friended with and shooting any new guys a quick message that you happen to come across can help. You have a party of 50+ members, all alive at some point in the last 30 days, surely them taking responsibility in such a manner is better then 2/3 people with a fancy title?
Even when we were fighting over new players, the uptake was low. People don't write because they can gain financially, they write because they have an opinion to share. As stated, a few thousand cc will not change it.
When I was a new boi I nearly quit until Neil Lewis (I think?) handed me a congress medal almost totally by accident cause I pressed the run button for literally no reason. I ended up keeping on playing due to actually interacting with players in my party (and to some extent MU, shoutout to OG royal navy boys) from the springboard of being a very terrible noob congressman. This would've happened regardless of whether the executive branch of govt was pumping out education articles or not. At the time they probably were, I assume.
It's not really government schemes that retain new people, new boys tend to leave unless they integrate with a particular group of buddies (either from their MU or party) or they buy a super OP tank account and farm medals or something. This is simply because the game, at its heart, isn't very good. You can't encourage somebody to play a game with no gameplay without giving him alternative incentives to stay.
Side note: Woldy's program is advertised at the bottom of every article he ever writes. Ofc problem nowadays is he doesn't write cause there's not much to say. iiirc it was like a couple of hundred cc for whenever somebody under a certain level threshold pooped out any article about literally anything.
I came just at the start of a babyboom, we had like, 5 thousand players + at it's peak, had it not been for people like Sir Nick, Goku Jones and Alfagrem taking their time to talk (indoctrinate) me, I would have left very soon after joining. The game offers very little for the single player. My advice is take time to talk to that newb, he could be another me...
Same here tbf. It was players like the old nifty guys, addaway, fataliix, sambo and people like Huey George who kept me around
Addaway, Sambo and the Poor Mans DC, that they called Nifty... no wonder we ended up with barrels of fish!

"It is becoming increasingly clear that new/returning players are struggling to make sense of the new version of erep" sorry who are these people? The only "new players" that actually make their presence at all obvious tend to get banned within a day. Slightly ironic that your altered spongebob normally says "nobody cares".
Weekly prizes for best article have been a thing before when the country was way more active, and in the majority of cases they only spawned one or two extra articles than there would've otherwise been over the course of the term. My main beef with money for good articles tho is that the best ones tend to be biased political articles of some sort, and MoHA will presumably want to not be biased thus leaving those good chaps with not much of an incentive.
In general thought the "community eUK once had" is something MoHA-focused candidates have wanted to achieve since back when TUP had like 100 members so at this point I'm not sure whatever you're after is feasibly possible.
Can't really comment on your defence/FA policies 'cause uh... there's nothing there.
Got to the cat picture and thought I stumbled onto a UKPP article
We moving on to unicorns soon, so its cool.
You couldn't even run the MoD and now you want to run the country? I think not.
