Fellow Americans we no longer should live in eternal dictatorship! No longer should our e-lives be lived as if we were charters from the novel Nineteen Eighty Four.

It is time to create a real system of checks and balances within the government, there needs to be boundaries that remove the blurring of one segment of the government in to the other. It is time to remove the choke hold of a few on the many.
Congress is an institution of puppets and cronies, should a member get an idea to make changes, they are shouted down with a variety insults and threats. Congress is over shadowed by a group of so called advisors of which many no longer play eRep, some for several years. Our present leaders like to roll out these advisors when congress gets out of line. These advisors verbally and mentally pummel anyone who would dare to stand in the way of the leaders.
The administration of our nation has changed very little in years, over time secretaries and deputies change but their puppet masters remain the same. For lack of evidence I cannot comment on rumors that several recent presidents have been controlled by the same individual or individuals. Most assuredly even the puppet masters while hidden behind the curtains must be amazed at how long and how easy it has been for them to control thousands of citizens.
It is time for the government of this e-nation to quit looking at new citizens as a resource to be exploited for their gold and money. It is time for the government of this e-nation to quit treating mid to old citizens as a threat if they don't join in lock step with the governments every demand.
The present leadership has failed to see the big picture that US-AIM represents, people are getting tired of this dictatorship. We do not advocate the AFA and what they represent, but it is time for a change that is long overdue. We should no longer bend to the will of a government that treats it citizens as pawns on the chess board of their social experiment.

The public list of congressional advisers has been recently deleted, but there has always been a list in the Private section if they wish to share.
Cromstar is and has been quite active.. he's not an attention whore, though, he just does his job.
What are you talking about, Cromstar's extremely active, on IRC on forums AND in game, he doesn't write a ton, which isn't needed for his job, and as Custer said he isn't an attention whore. You guys have legitimate gripes, and I agree with some, but Cromstar is not one of them. Crom is an exemplary player.
I would argue, George (and no offense to Crom) that to "lead", or even play in a leadership role, one MUST be visible, or else BE that which he suggests.

Old Man Crommy has been tapped as an adviser to some Presidents and not others, as have I and others who do not seek leadership roles.
Crom's been Def Sec or some such for awhile now I believe. I guess my point is that such a powerful position must keep some contact with the general populace or else, as suggested above, those same people come to be seen as puppeteers. People who pull the strings unseen. In real life, our Def Sec makes almost weekly Press Conferences, in example. People expect such people to have some visibility and contact.
As to the Advisor situation, the problem with Advisors occurs when those Advisors attempt to control an outcome of a decision through bullying or coercion, both of which are felonious crimes in RL, but uncontrollable in game. Still, that it occurs is well known (certainly I have my own personal stories). That it causes general animosity across a wide spectrum of the populace is to be the expected eventual result.
I see Cromstar in IRC and on message boards all the time. What do you want him to do? Message you personally and ask how you're doing?
I haven't seen or heard them, ever. But, it isn't the only one. There are plenty of old Characters, which only use the meta-game.
Meta game. Media is where government folks need presence. Small part of the populace does any meta-gaming at all. Including me, for the most part.

Not saying I agree nor disagree, but it would definitely be a good idea to actually say who it is, if you want people to take your point at all. Same idea goes for most of the rest of the article.
We need more open democracy, more open government, a re-balancing of power from exec to representative government, NO, I did not say turn it all over, however the balance has gone nearly 100% to exec control, that needs to be fixed.
We need to end Unity elections, how about a national push to create conditions to encourage a babyboom of loyal eAmericans.

Populations are down in pretty much every country in the game. Let's be honest, this isn't that great of a game. It's just hard to attract multitudes of players when the bait we are using is eRepublik. The only countries that don't seem to have declining populations are the ultra-nationalistic countries that use any opportunity to have a go at their real life mortal enemies while fighting neverending battles over their tribal pissing grounds and tiny countries with inferiority complexes that are completely insignificant on the real world stage but are able to matter in the game world.
Do you remember when POLAND had SIXTY THOUSAND CITIZENS? 'Cause I do, they're not even in the top 5 nations anymore.

In your role play you are part of a resistance taking on the evil government that's controlled by a few people whose major crime in you eyes is that it's not you and those with you running things. The fact of the matter is that the game mechanics make our government be democratically elected. So you can't say that your view represents what the majority thinks, because it doesn't. The majority has elected these people who you so object to running things. While most government positions are not elected, the person who hands out those jobs (the President) is elected. Each candidate who runs for president makes no secret about who they intend to give what job to. That leaves us with the fact that all in all the majority of the country is satisfied with the status quo considering they elected the people who made the status quo. Good luck with the evil government is out to get everyone role play. Maybe when that's done the tin foil hat crowd can all join together for a game of Dungeons and Dragons.
a wise administration always listens. I get the sense the complaint is a perceived absence of listening, or communication and/or action. Even if the complaint is not perfectly justified, a wise administration takes it into account and finds the means to respond appropriately. We have a new (same?) administration. Time will tell. Since I have not spent eleven terms in congress my take on the situation just doesn't matter while your eleven term views do matter. It would seem that if you have spent eleven terms in congress, and yet you still have something to complain about that those eleven terms have been ineffective to say the least.

On Pfeiffer's stack of medals comment: All the dictators ever killed by angry mobs (as most are eventually) had stacks of medals. And it's usually some baker without any at all that leads the revolution.
Guys who deserve accolades in this game are the one's who put in thankless hours without much notice and almost no glory. The boring but necessary jobs. Supply folks, education/interior peeps, party recruiters, etc.
Guys with big titles are rewarded with big ego's.

No morningblur based on your above comment it is you who is condescending and in possession of all the answers. My eleven terms in Congress were spent trying to change the system from within. No longer do I have any desire to return to congress or who is POTUS. My interest is in a free and open government with verifiable checks and balances
There are checks and balances. Just like in real life if the majority are dissatisfied then that person won't be reelected. Yes the party presidents control who gets into congress, but there are checks and balances there too. If a party president keeps putting people in congress that the majority of the party disagree with then that party president does not get reelected. The system is working exactly as it should. The majority view rules. While those in the minority are the loudest voices since they publish article after article the silent majority keeps on electing who they believe to be best for the job.
